Iowa star Caitlin Clark declares for the 2024 WNBA Draft… hours after becoming the highest-scoring women’s basketball player in college athletics history

Just hours after setting Lynette Woodard’s record for most points in a women’s basketball career, Iowa star guard Caitlin Clark has declared for the 2024 WNBA Draft.

In a statement on social media, Clark announced her decision with just a few games left in Iowa’s regular season — with the Hawkeyes set to play in the Big Ten Tournament and the women’s edition of March Madness in the coming days.

“While this season is far from over and we have many more goals to accomplish, it will be my last at Iowa. I am excited to enter the 2024 WNBA Draft,” Clark wrote.

“It is impossible to fully express my gratitude to everyone who supported me during my time at Iowa – my teammates, who made my last four years the best; my coaches, trainers and staff who always let me be myself; Hawkeye fans who filled Carver (Hawkeye Arena) every night; and everyone who came to support us across the country, especially the young children.

“The most important thing is that none of this would have been possible without my family and friends who have been by my side through it all. Thanks to all of you, my dreams came true.”
