The men who burst into a mansion in Newport Beach, California earlier this week were armed with guns, zip ties and rope.
Andrew Miguel Rosas, 24, from Pomona was one of the duo who broke into the community in the early hours of Tuesday, allegedly with the intention of committing a robbery.
His accomplice was fatally shot in the head, but both men wore dark clothing and masks when they were dropped off at the exclusive $7 million home in what appeared to be a carefully calculated home invasion according to Orange County Superior Court records, as shown in the Orange County Superior Court documents. the LA times.
Rosas was arrested Tuesday and is now charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree theft, carrying a loaded firearm in public and conspiracy to commit a crime — all felonies.
Investigators remain tight-lipped as they try to piece together the events that unfolded just before 4:45 a.m. Tuesday morning during what police say was a “targeted attack” at the two-story mansion on Vista Luci.

By the time police officers arrived on the scene, Rosas was discovered lying in the street with gunshot wounds, while a gun was found nearby.
The 4,709-square-foot home, located in the Newport Coast neighborhood, was rented by a family of wealthy Chinese nationals, according to DailyMail.com sources with knowledge of the matter.
Neighbors said they heard screams at the time the home invasion occurred on the usually quiet cul-de-sac, which is home to only 10 other sprawling townhouses.
“This is a targeted incident and it was isolated,” said Newport Beach Police Sgt. Steve Oberon told Fox11, adding that the family was not necessarily targeted for a robbery.
Intruders were met with gunfire Tuesday as they tried to approach residents staying at the swanky $7 million mansion in Newport Coast’s gated community.

Sources with good knowledge of the situation told DailyMail.com that the violent incident was in fact an attempted kidnapping.
This was not the first time an incident occurred in Vista Luci’s home.
Sources said the same suspects also tried to accost the residents about ten days earlier.
Newport Beach police declined to comment due to their ongoing investigation.
The man who shot the intruder was evacuated from the home along with two women and a child and was not injured, police said.
“I just want to assure the residents of Newport Beach that this is a safe community,” Oberon said. “We know that there is a relationship between the two suspects and the victims/residents.”
The single-family home has an area of 4,709 square meters and was built in 2000
The expansive mansion has 6 bedrooms and 5 1/2 bathrooms
The owner of the house declined to comment when contacted by DailyMail.com, but sources said the five-bedroom house was regularly rented out.
The tenants paid at least $35,000 a month to rent the 4,709-square-foot home, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of the California coastline, according to real estate website Compass.
The luxury home also features high-end appliances, marble floors, an outdoor pool and a master suite with ocean views.
Although the home is in a gated community, the intruders were somehow able to gain access inside, Newport Beach police said.
The neighborhood features multi-million dollar homes and is close to the 5-star luxury resort at Pelican Hill.
The master suite also has beautiful coastal views

Officers in tactical gear were seen slowly entering the mansion shortly after the shooting and found a man armed with a handgun lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds.
The body of the second suspect was found in the bushes near the house where his head was found.
Officials with the Orange County Sheriff-Coroner Division have not yet released the name of the man who committed suicide as of Friday.
Newport Beach Mayor Will O’Neill said the deadly incident should serve as a warning to criminals.
“I can tell you right now, if you come into Newport Beach to commit a crime, we will defend ourselves, and today is an example of that,” he said.
