Rob sets sail: In a candid joint interview with his Summertime Sadness hitmaker daughter, 37, for GQ, Rob Grant, 69, said he “loves the Nepo Daddy” label
Referring to his “Nepo Daddy” label that first popped up in his Instagram comments, he said, “The Nepo Daddy” thing I love. I thought, my god, this would be some really cool merchandise. I’m happy to be the first Nepo Daddy’
The pair previously collaborated on the song Sweet Carolina, a track from Lana’s 2021 album Blue Bannisters.
He said, “Nobody wants to give someone credit for doing something. God forbid you have real talent. People don’t want to admit that. They will find a way to undermine you and make you feel really bad about yourself. So that fake daddy thing, I love that. Hell, I’ll sell you hats, T-shirts, canvas bags, you name it.’
Lana attributes her worldwide success to her father who influenced her early musical tastes.
When she was a child, the pair bonded with The Beach Boys and Paul Simon.#
Grant previously attempted to launch a country music career when Lana was 11 – she traveled to Nashville with a song titled Big Bubba.
However, this backfired when the producer thought Big Bubba was mocking traditional country music and when Grant said he disliked a particular country song the producer had been working on.
Grant is now further capitalizing on Lana’s success by launching a merchandise range of Nepo Daddy items while fully embracing the label.

In an interview with the Sunday Times, Gigi Hadid was candid about her background, saying: ‘Technically I’m a favoritism baby. My parents came from very small.
“I have always recognized that I come from a privileged position.
“My parents told me, ‘Just because you have parents who were successful doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be as nice and hard-working as you can be.'”
She added that she doesn’t think she’s the “most beautiful person in the world” and that she “could probably use some Botox.”
