Internet quickly backs TikToker who says he was forced to spend $150 on mozzarella sticks after splitting dinner bill with friends – leaving him no money for an Uber home

A TikTok user is getting the internet’s support after he said he was forced to spend $150 on mozzarella sticks during a dinner with friends, leaving him with not enough money to get to his Uber home.

Steve Guarino shared this on January 6 video that he allegedly spent $150 on mozzarella sticks and water after splitting the restaurant bill with friends. His friends, who were clearly ordering more than just apps, agreed to split the bill evenly, leaving Guarino with the expensive dish.

Guarino admitted in the video caption that he couldn’t afford an Uber because of the money he was spending.

“POV takes your broke home after your friends split the check evenly even though I have mozz sticks and they have the lobster,” he wrote in the video.

The video has been viewed more than 430,000 times in less than two weeks and is one of Guarino’s most popular videos. @stevie2chains.

Guarino, who according to his Instagram and TikTok bios is from New York, did not say how many friends he was with or where he was going to dinner.

However, the apparently expensive order may not have come as a surprise since then Blue Book Services Listed menu prices in New York City will increase 16 percent by 2023.

TikTok users who commented on the video didn’t shame the publisher, but the friends. Others have suggested ideas to prevent this problem in the future.

Guarino didn’t interact with many TikTok users, but he did respond to a comment with a likely joke.

Guarino responded with a laughing emoji and wrote, “Tina needs to chill.”

Some users suggested setting servers aside prior to the check, and some users had a conversation about why individual checks might not have worked.

“Not every place does separate checks, especially for large groups,” one TikToker wrote.

“You bring cash, or I spoke to the waitress to pay for mine, paid at the bar.”

One user noted that they use the Plates app and that “the tax and tip are calculated based on what you order.”
