Inter Milan Ultras staged a massive strike during the club’s win over Sampdoria to pay tribute to a former leader who was killed in an ambush.

Vittorio Boiocchi, 69, was shot and killed near his home in the Figino neighborhood of Milan on Saturday night.

Boiocchi had previously served as one of the leaders of the historic club’s ultras, prompting some of the fans in attendance to pay a collective tribute.

With the Nerazzurri heading into halftime with a comfortable 2-0 lead, part of the club’s fanbase chose to leave the stadium to commemorate Boiocchi, leaving large areas of the San Siro empty for the second half.

However, according to reports from Football Italia, the ultras leaving the stadium tried to force other Inter fans to leave under threat of violence.

A fan later shared his experience during the incident on social media: “Last night I was at the Curva Nord. I was threatened that I would be beaten up if I didn’t come out.

I saw a man being punched in front of me for wanting to assert his sacred right to watch the game. I hope the club takes action.’

The ultras’ actions during the break have led to widespread condemnation on social media, with @valeriolafrate describing the incident as “one of the blackest pages in recent history of the relationship between organized supporters and clubs”.

Another user expressed disdain at the group’s actions: “Can we say the Curva Nord is embarrassing or should we continue the farce of ‘real fans’?”
