Inter Milan are pushing to sign Trevoh Chalobah for £25m before Mauricio Pochettino arrives at Chelsea.

- Inter Milan want to seal a deal before the manager arrives
- Chalobah needs more playing time to participate in a change of style for England
Trevoh Chalobah wants to stay and fight for his place in the Chelsea squad under Mauricio Pochettino, but Inter Milan are keen to finalize a deal before the Argentine manager arrives.
Chalobah agreed a six-year contract extension with Chelsea in November 2022 after working his way up to the Premier League under their former manager Graham Potter.
However, Chalobah struggled for playing time ahead of the arrival of Chelsea’s agent Frank Lampard and will look to establish a regular place in the squad under Pochettino.
Although Inter Milan are reportedly ramping up their efforts to sign the 23-year-old defender ahead of the Argentina manager’s arrival at Stamford Bridge, the club said Evening Standard.
Chelsea reportedly value Chalobah at around £25 million and Inter are said to be willing to match the club’s asking price to secure his services ahead of the 2023-24 season.

Chalobah is seeking a spot in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for their upcoming Euro 2024 campaign. Therefore, he recognizes the need for regular first-XI football.
However, he hopes to find his way into Pochettino’s squad and play regularly for Chelsea, having made 34 appearances for the Blues in all competitions in the 2022-23 season.
Chalobah has not yet been called up to the Three Lions squad, but Inter Milan believe they can help get the defender there. They think the chance to play in the Champions League could help his cause.
In addition, Chalobah’s arrival to Italy could bolster Inter Milan’s backline as Matteo Darmian (33) and Francesco Acerbi (35) are in the final stages of their careers.
Inter view Chalobah – who spent time on loan at Ipswich, Huddersfield and French club Lorient – as a young and energetic defender who will make their backline more dynamic.
It is not the first time that Inter has shown interest in Chalobah. They tried to get his services on loan last summer, but the Blues denied them the chance.
