Finland and Inter Miami star Robert Taylor decided to take inspiration for his Halloween costume from someone very close to one of his newest teammates.
Taylor posted his costume to Instagram – the best attempt he could make to recreate the look and physique of Lionel Messi’s bodyguard, Yassine Cheuko.
Wearing a team polo and sweatpants, Taylor also wore an arm sleeve with fake muscles, a bald cap and a fake beard.
Taylor tagged Cheuko in the post, saying “Thanks for the idea” and adding a photo of the bodyguard to his post.
Cheuko saw it, liked it and left a comment with a bunch of laughing emojis.
Inter Miami star Robert Taylor was Lionel Messi’s bodyguard on Halloween this year
This year, Yassine Cheuko (R) has the task of protecting the best player in the world
Cheuko, a former American soldier and MMA fighter, has become somewhat of an internet sensation
Since Messi arrived in Miami, Cheuko has been tasked with protecting the club’s greatest player in club, league and football history.
Cheuko is a former Navy Seal with combat experience in both Iraq and Afghanistan with expertise in martial arts, taekwondo, boxing and has competed in several MMA fights.
Beckham’s decision to select the highly skilled Cheuko came amid the rising number of pitch invaders in recent years.
That decision appears to be paying off as Cheuko drags many a fan away from the 36-year-old Argentinian as they clamber across the pitch for a photo.
As a result, Cheuko has received a lot of media attention for his work, including some attention from not-so-typical places.
He has received proposals from adult content websites, including one that offered him $25,000 to flex his muscles as their “martial arts ambassador.”
