Intel ushers in the enterprise AI PC era with a new vPro platform
Intel has unveiled the future of its AI PC hardware with the announcement of its new vPro platform at Mobile World Congress 2024.
Powered by the company’s latest Intel Core Ultra processors, the new platform will aim to boost business users across all industries, providing not only a hardware upgrade for the CPU, GPU and AI-enhancing NPU, but also usability benefits across the board.
Intel says it has already signed deals with partners including Acer, ASUS, Dell Technologies, HP, Lenovo, LG and Microsoft Surface, with more than 100 designs set to hit the market sometime in 2024.

Intel says its new platform aims to appeal to customers by targeting four key pain points for users: productivity, security, manageability and stability.
As many companies prepare for their first major fleet renewal since the pandemic forced many companies to invest in laptops and mobile workstations to enable hybrid working, Intel says its new offering can solve some of the issues that are frustrating users today.
With many businesses still looking to upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11, Intel says the hardware can help businesses upgrade and deliver with confidence. There’s also a specific focus on increasing productivity when it comes to the apps we all use every day – with Intel claiming office app productivity increases by up to 47% compared to a three-year-old PC.
There’s also improved security thanks to Intel’s Threat Detection Technology, which can harness the power of the NPU to perform analytics, improving the efficiency of scans and not slowing down a device when scanning for threats.
With many companies embracing hybrid working, Intel says the new hardware also offers improved manageability, with the new Device Discovery tool enabling greater control from administrators, and the new Device Health tool giving companies greater visibility into patching requirements and driving end-to-end device management.
The new Intel Core processor also includes Arc GPUs with up to twice the graphics performance of its previous generation, with features such as ray tracing and AI capabilities that make it easier to perform tasks such as video editing, CAD design or even generating images for advertising. and marketing campaigns.
“The new Intel vPro platform with Intel Core Ultra continues to raise the bar on productivity, security, manageability and stability to ensure IT organizations can manage transitions with confidence,” said David Feng, Intel vice president president of Client Computing Group and general manager of Client Segments. “We’re delivering new AI experiences with 100+ software vendors, Windows 11 and Copilot. 2024 will be the best year to renew your fleet and be AI-ready
