A man has revealed how he went on a date with Hinge and then dumped her, thinking she and her friend were using him to get an expensive free meal.
TikTok user Johnny America claims he left the check on the table and quietly left the restaurant after his date brought along an uninvited friend.
To make matters worse, the two both ordered expensive surf and turf dishes and multiple drinks, apparently assuming he would pay for everything.
Johnny said he and the woman had arranged to have an informal lunch, but that she later insisted they go to a hibachi restaurant.
In a clip that has been viewed more than 2.5 million times, Johnny explains, “I get there to meet a girl for hibachi, and she brings a girlfriend and says, ‘Hey, would it be nice if my girlfriend just comes with us?’ What was I supposed to tell her, ‘Go away?'”

TikTok user Johnny America claims he left the check on the table and quietly left the restaurant after his date brought an uninvited friend
Johnny said he started talking to his date after she and her friend ordered “a bunch of drinks” and appetizers.
Johnny said he thought it was unusual, but he didn’t say anything about how much the women ordered.
When the hibachi chef took their orders, the content creator stuck with a basic chicken and rice dish.
However, his date and her friend both opted for the more expensive surf and turf option.
This made the TikToker suspicious.
He told his followers: ‘These girls think I’m stupid. I’m not.’
Johnny said he and the women chatted throughout the meal, but they were well aware of the stunt they were about to pull.
When the chef offered to split the bill, he noticed that the women were asking for “everything on one plate.”
He then asked his date, “Would you mind putting my food in a box to go? I have to use the bathroom.” He promptly left the restaurant.
“Guess where I went? I didn’t go to the bathroom. I got in my car and I went home. You think I’m stupid? I’m not. You paid my bill. Thanks,” he said.
In a follow-up video, the TikTokker said he returned to the restaurant the next day to check if the bill had been paid.
He spoke to the chef, who told him the bill had been paid, but not by the two women who had waited for 30 minutes, before “another man came in and paid the bill.”
“These two idiots called some other idiot to pay their bill, and that idiot did it,” Johnny said.
He added, “There’s no saving them. They’re not good people.” He gave the chef $20 for his trouble.
Users in the comments praised Johnny for following his intuition and leaving the suspicious duo.
Someone wrote: ‘There’s nothing more disrespectful than taking advantage of someone’s kindness. I’d get out too lol.’
Another added: ‘Lollll you played their game better than they did. She wanted an expensive meal for free and for her friend that’s crazy sir.’
“I feel like they’ve done this before,” said a third.
