Instagram was offline for thousands of users in the US on Friday.
Starting around 3:30 PM ET, people started reporting issues viewing stories, uploading posts, and sending direct messages.
Meta, the parent company that owns Instagram, said it is investigating the issue and working on a solution. It said there would be an update tonight at 8pm.
Mark Zuckerberg’s company suffered its largest outage ever in March, shutting down Facebook, Instagram and Messenger for hours.

This is the number of reports submitted to the outage tracker site Down Detector. This shows that thousands of users were experiencing issues around 3:30 PM ET on Friday. The reports only concern a small number of people who are actually experiencing problems
