Instagram is down – with users around the world unable to access the app or website
Instagram went offline today, with thousands of people around the world complaining about issues.
Users cannot access Facebook through the app or website.
On Downdetector.com there were thousands of user-generated reports of outage after 8:30am (AEST).
The app says “Sorry, something went wrong” or “sorry, feed can’t be refreshed” when a user tries to refresh the app.
Instagram has not released a statement about the outage and it is unknown how long the app will be offline.

Many took to Twitter to complain about the outage, with many joking that they couldn’t doomscroll on their way to work this morning.
“My job requires me to access social media so Instagram which is now unavailable fills my money,” one wrote.
“INSTAGRAM WAS OFF AND I WAS JUST DMING A BADDIE,” said another.
“What’s wrong with my page,” a third added.
“I always get stressed to see if my Instagram account has been hacked/deleted or if Instagram is down,” said another.
“I thought I was the only one, I rebooted my phone and everything,” added a fifth.
Instagram is one of the world’s most popular apps, with over 2.35 billion monthly active users.
Instagram has been approached for comment.
The app is owned by Meta, Facebook’s parent company.
