On Downdetector.com there were thousands of user-generated reports of a 2:30pm (AEST) outage.
The app showed users error messages such as ‘sorry, couldn’t refresh the feed’ and ‘something went wrong’.

Instagram users have been complaining about issues since 11am and as of 3pm the app is still experiencing issues for thousands of users.
The social media app went offline just a few weeks ago, with a whopping 100,000 users affected in the US and 56,000 in the UK.

“Instagram down every 5 working days wtf,” one person wrote.
“Instagram down again… Here they come on twitter,” said a second.
“Instagram is down every 3 days, I’m so tired,” a third added.
“I’m pulling back to Twitter to see if Instagram isn’t working or if the Wi-Fi just isn’t working,” a fourth wrote.
Instagram is one of the world’s most popular apps, with over 2.35 billion monthly active users.
The app is owned by Meta, Facebook’s parent company.
