Inside the wild love life and complicated family of Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro – amid fallout over THAT onstage bust-up
Rocker Dave Navarro is in the news again after his band spectacularly exploded on stage.
Dave, 57, the original guitarist for ’90s alt-rockers Jane’s Addiction, got into an altercation with bandmate Perry Farrell last week during a gig in Boston.
Footage captured during the concert shows Farrell, 65, physically confronting Navarro during the band’s hit Mountain Song.
The commotion on stage forced Dave to cancel the remaining shows of the band’s first tour in 14 years with the original line-up.
“Due to an ongoing pattern of behavior and mental health issues of our lead singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to end the current U.S. tour,” Navarro said in a statement.
He continued: ‘Our concern for his personal health and safety, as well as our own, has left us with no other choice. We hope he finds the help he needs.’
Navarro’s complicated career has been paralleled by his tumultuous love life over the years.
The rocker has been married three times and his many lovers include porn stars Stormy Daniels, Sasha Grey and Jenna Jameson.
Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro’s tumultuous stage career also spills over into his private life, which includes multiple marriages, romantic interests and public battles with drug and alcohol addiction.
Dave has also been linked to pop star Fiona Apple and MAXIM model Tania Donaldson, among others.
His first marriage was to celebrity make-up artist Tania Goddard Saylor.
However, this bond was short-lived: two years after their marriage in 1990, the couple separated.
His next marriage was even shorter, lasting only five days.
Dave joined Jane’s Addiction in 1996, before the band split in 1991 due to internal disagreements and personal tensions
Both Navarro’s mother and aunt were murdered in 1983 by his mother’s ex-boyfriend, John Riccardi, who was arrested after appearing on America’s Most Wanted.
After divorcing his first wife Tania Goddard-Saylor in 1002, Navarro married Rhian Gittins (pictured), but separated five days later.
Navarro has also been linked to numerous love interests, including former porn star Jenna Jameson (pictured in 2008)
He has also been romantically linked to porn stars Stormy Daniels (L) and Sasha Grey (R)
Rhian Gittins married Navarro on October 15, 1994.
They divorced on October 20 of that year, making it one of the shortest celebrity unions in history.
Navarro’s next relationship was with actress and model Carmen Electra.
Dave met the former Baywatch star in the early 2000s and quickly caught the media’s attention as an “it” couple.
That attention came to light when their relationship was put on display on a large-scale screen in the reality series Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen and Dave, which aired for seven episodes on MTV in 2004.
Viewers were given a behind-the-scenes look as the popular couple planned their wedding, with the series culminating on the big wedding day.
Dave then met former Baywatch star Carmen Electra in the early 2000s and the pair quickly caught the media’s attention as an ‘it’ couple
But that relationship also turned out to be doomed to failure and two years later, in 2006, the couple split for good.
Despite the breakup, Electra shared a sweet message to her ex on social media in 2019 to celebrate his birthday.
Electra shared a photo from their wedding day and wrote, ‘Congratulations @davenavarro my everlasting love for you is indescribable.
“We had a strange understanding for each other that resulted in lots of laughter, fun, and understanding! Ty 4 let me be myself and didn’t judge my mistakes. I mean… the time out system really worked. So thankful we’re still friends! Love you DN #happybirthday #tildeathdouspart.”
The rocker is currently engaged to After We Collided actress Vanessa DuBasso.

Dave joined Jane’s Addiction in 1986, before the band split in 1991 due to internal disagreements and personal tensions.
He was supposed to be Izzy Stradlin’s replacement guitarist in the iconic rock band Guns N Roses, but reportedly never showed up.
He also played for a time with the funk-punk rock group Red Hot Chili Peppers, producing the 2005 album One Hot Minute.
After a number of Jane’s Addiction reunions, the band reunited for a third time in 2022, this time without Navarro, who was sidelined due to Long COVID.
And Dave’s tumultuous stage career has also spilled over into his personal life, with multiple marriages, romantic interests and public battles with drug and alcohol addiction.
Both Navarro’s mother and aunt were murdered in 1983 by his mother’s ex-boyfriend, John Riccardi.
He was eventually arrested after appearing on America’s Most Wanted.
Navarro released a documentary in 2015, Mourning Son, in which he details the horrific ordeal.
Dave’s tumultuous stage career has also affected his personal life, with multiple marriages, romantic interests and public battles with drug and alcohol addiction.
Speaking to the Huffington Post When the film came out, Navarro said he didn’t realize the film was a statement about domestic violence until he was in the middle of it.
“I think part of that is because I was so close to the events as a child. Especially because it was the ’80s, those words weren’t used as much,” he said.
“When we put the project together, I realized this was what I was talking about.”
Dave has also struggled with addiction issues, stemming from his grief over the death of his mother.
After Jane’s Addiction broke up in 1991, Dave checked into rehab and attempted to get sober.
He adopted a vegan diet and healthier lifestyle and stayed clean for about five years, until he relapsed in 1997.
Speaking with Adam Carolla In 2022, Dave revealed that he had been off intravenous drugs for nearly two decades and had been sober for four years.
“There’s a lot of shame associated with addiction, depression, and mental illness. I’ve suffered not only from addiction, but from mental illness,” he said in the podcast.
“One of the things that keeps people from asking for help is shame. The facts are that shame never saved anyone. Shame is what makes people die.”
