Inside the tumultuous marriage of ‘crying single TikTok’ mom and her ex-husband – from ‘fake’ cancer claims to allegations of abuse and their viral videos

A single mother who went viral on TikTok for crying while baking a birthday cake claims her ex-abusing husband abused her as he accused her of faking cancer.

Elizabeth Teckenbrock, 29, shared a video last week of herself crying while complaining about being a single mother and having to make your own birthday cake. The TikTok took the internet by storm, racking up 58 million views and receiving a slew of reactions, both positive and negative.

However, shortly after the clip went viral, it was revealed that the single mother had a dark past. Her ex-husband Andrew Cormier, 37, said he essentially has full custody of their two young girls, barely sees them and “goes out all the time.”

Cormier told DailyMail.com that his ex-wife allegedly faked cancer and claims she left the family when it “came to light.”

There were several now-deleted TikToks uploaded in 2021 that showed Teckenbrock asking for support in her battle with cancer — and Cormier said she started a GoFundMe to raise money while saying she was suffering from “cancer.”

“Can we start a prayer chain, pray that I overcome the 20% odds and make it through chemo,” said one of the TikToks — along with the hashtag #CormierStrong — as Teckenbrock shared her ex-husband’s last name at the time.

Another TikTok where Teckenbrock appears to appear along with the hashtag shows the single mother thanking everyone who reached out to her and prayed for her during her “battle with lymphoma,”

When asked why she allegedly lied and what happened to the money, Cormier said he didn’t know why his ex-wife didn’t tell the truth or what she did with the money raised.

According to Cormier, Teckenbrock accused him of physical abuse. “She has made some very bad accusations against me and I am really worried about my children,” he told DailyMail.com.

On Friday, Cormier made a series of bombshell claims, saying he has full custody of their two young girls who she barely sees because she “goes out all the time.”

Cormier also revealed that the abuse claims Teckenbrock allegedly made only began after she left the family, and that she began filing warrants when he contacted her family to tell them “what she was doing” .

Teckenbrock denied discussing the ongoing drama between her and her ex-husband.

“I’m drowning from all the emotional abuse, from all the reporters, from my ex-husband,” she said.

When asked about the false cancer allegations, Teckenbrock did not respond.

Teckenbrock accused Cormier of abuse the day after he made a series of allegations, saying he was “extremely abusive” before admitting she does not have custody of their children but sees them.

Teckenbrock was taken into custody in August 2023 for third-degree theft and cash or deposit with intent to defraud

“Andrew is extremely, extremely abusive and has always been extremely abusive,” she claimed.

“First I’ll start with the detention, okay, because that’s what we’re all talking about. I see my children, I see all my children.

‘I’m the one who organizes their birthday parties. I’m the one who puts them to bed. I’m the one who does everything until he pulls them away.’

Despite the serious allegations against her, Teckenbrock uploaded a light-hearted video of herself dancing around her kitchen in a pink two-piece set to a Drake song.

‘Me against myself. Because I have really experienced it, but I still walk a delicate walk. I’m still somehow sincere and wear my heart on my sleeve. and no one can take that away from me,” the video text reads.

Meanwhile, the text in the background said: ‘I’m so proud of you. Everything is right, you’ve been through hell and back. That’s why you’re so bad.’

Teckenbrock briefly deleted her TikTok account last week, along with all her other social media pages, following the backlash to her crying video.

She has now returned to TikTok and actively posts non-stop videos defending herself in bizarre ways. She also asked her followers not to harass Cormier.

Recently, the sobbing single mother uploaded a video of herself unloading the dishwasher, with a voiceover saying her biggest lesson over the past few days is that “your past doesn’t define you.”

She also posted a video of herself “explaining herself” now that she “has a lot of followers.” In the five-minute video, she said that she knows she is a good mother and that she dedicates her life and time to them regardless of her mistakes.

“I will say with pride and without a doubt that I know who I am. I know I am a good mother, that I love my children.

‘I’ve made mistakes in my life, yes, I’ve been arrested, that’s not something I’ve denied at all. I have discussed this before on my page.’

“I was 16 when I had my son,” she revealed – adding that she was a single mother from then on but had “no hatred for his father.”

Cormier revealed that his ex-wife had previously been arrested for fraud. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Teckenbrock was taken into custody in August 2023 on charges of third-degree theft and cash or deposit with intent to defraud.

“I went through some pretty bad mental things when I was about a year removed from my divorce. And when I left, even worse, I went out all the time, I made a lot of mistakes,” she added, revealing that she was arrested for “writing a bad check.”

Since her mistakes, the single mother said she has tried to “rebuild her life” while struggling with mental illness.

“It’s very hard to get out of something like that, especially when you’re being broken down at the same time.”

Teckenbrock added that “regardless of her faults,” she “dedicates her time to her children.”

‘I don’t have any hatred towards his father, but I was a single mother when I was 16 years old. I’ve had a hard time since I was emotionally distraught, you might say,” she said as she burst into tears.

Shortly before posting her three most recent videos, she posted a dramatic update captioned, “Right now I’m terrified for my life and well-being for me and my children.” I appreciate everyone who supported me. But I’m done posting.’
