Incredible new details have been revealed about Steve Sarkisian’s contract extension with Texas, which will pay the head football coach more than $10 million per year.
Last season, he led the Longhorns to the Big 12 Championship and their first College Football Playoff appearance, and the team announced his contract extension through 2030 shortly after the season ended.
Now, however, new details have emerged revealed by Inside Texasand there are plenty of benefits for the 49-year-old.
Notably, the contract states that Sarkisian will receive two cars, a $300,000 signing bonus and a country club membership.
In addition – and perhaps the icing on the cake – he will be entitled to 20 hours of use of the school’s private jet – and will also receive 12 tickets and a suite for all Texas games.

Sarkisian’s salary will also increase by $100,000 every year until 2030, with the final salary reaching $10.9 million in the final year of the deal.
There are multiple performance incentives and the head coach could earn an additional $1.85 million each year – including $1.25 million if Texas hoists the National Championship trophy.
Last season, Sarkisian had a base salary of $5.6 million – 30th in the nation – and he has now catapulted himself to fourth on the list of highest-paid coaches in the country.
The new deal will be approved next week by the University of Texas System Board of Regents, which released the details in the board agenda on Saturday.
“Coach Sark is an incredible coach, a top-notch individual and a tremendous leader of men,” Board of Regents Chairman Kevin Eltife said Jan. 14 when Texas first announced the extension. “Coach Sark has brought the pride and passion back into our program.”

Texas finished 12-2 last season and was in third place after a 37-31 loss to Washington in a national semifinal that came down to the final play. The Longhorns won the Big 12 in their final season in the league. Texas will move to the Southeastern Conference next season.
Sarkisian, 49, is 25-14 in his three seasons at Texas.
“We’re just getting started,” Sarkisian said in January. “We built this program for long-term success.
Texas also extended the contracts of tight ends coach Jeff Banks, offensive coordinator Kyle Flood and defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski.
