Rita opened the door to her home in North London’s Primrose Hill and explained in the video – also shared by Architectural Digest – that the “main reason” she bought the house was “because of its history”, adding later that they ‘always attract homes with an old spirit.’

Welcoming the camera crew inside, she explained the historical link, stating, ‘It was built in the 1800s, originally owned by an illustrator named Arthur Rackham, one of my favorite artists.

“He did all the illustrations for Alice In Wonderland, Little Red Riding Hood … the house has a lot of energy, good energy – all the creative juices I need and felt as soon as I walked in here.”

Rita was clearly proud of the house’s history and loved to show off an ornate dark wood room divider separating her dining and living room, explaining what the function has been like in the house since the house was built.

Rita told her fans that Arthur, the home’s former owner, who died in 1939, posed for a photo with the exact same dividers, with the Anywhere hitmaker hoping to replicate the image with her own photo.

The tour showed Rita’s light and airy living room, with cream sofas, cozy furniture, a glittering chandelier and glass doors leading out to the garden.

In the kitchen were dark wood cabinets with white marble counter tops – and the room was flooded with plenty of sunlight thanks to the large windows.

While a large willow tree was seen in the center of the garden, commented by the Fifty Shades Of Gray actress: ‘It just felt like I’d be an idiot if I didn’t get this house.’

It comes after Rita appeared delighted as she drew a fan portrait of herself on Wednesday to raise money for the charity Unicef.

The singer cut a casual figure in a black and white tracksuit and matching pants as she posed next to the amazing artwork.
