Inside NYC’s migrant school hotel: Shocking footage shows hundreds sleeping on floor in Brooklyn assembly hall after students were kicked out of class – as parents say they WON’T let kids return because it is ‘unhygienic’

Shocking new footage has shown hundreds of asylum seekers sleeping on the floor of a Brooklyn school auditorium after children were kicked out of classes so 2,000 migrants could move in.

The students of James Madison High School in Brooklyn are stuck at home today, with many of their parents there with them.

The decision was to allow 2,000 migrants to move from their shelters to the school building in anticipation of a storm that officials believed would put the shelter at risk of flooding.

Clips obtained by DailyMail.com show migrants, young and old, taking up space in the large school classroom, surrounded by their belongings.

Alina, mother of two children at the school in Years 9 and 12, told DailyMail.com: ‘My child texted me around 1pm saying school is out tomorrow.

‘They receive distance learning, because the migrants sleep in the auditorium and gym.

‘It was crazy. We are not against immigrants, but this is illegal. This illegal, uh, crossing the border and all that, and it affects all of us. And the worst part is that it affects our children.’

The concerned mother added: “The border must be closed. We should not allow illegal immigrants to come to a country like this.

‘And our children are affected because education is already at the lowest level. Based on previous years’ remote learning, this was not the best thing for us.”

Councilor Jamie Williams said outside the school today: ‘It’s not me letting them get away with it. We were on the ground from day one. From day one. We sat on the floor. So we have to ask that question at a higher scale level.

“We need answers from the federal government and all the powers that be. This isn’t just one person’s thing. Everyone who is elected has a responsibility to act.

‘I can tell you as a parent. My daughter goes to James Madison. She’s home. She logged in and they have to submit work that was missing.

“What we see here today is unprecedented.”

Eric Adams, proud of the decision, visited the site last night and then shared photos on Twitter showing him inspecting the gymnasium where the migrants would sleep.

At 4am this morning, after no serious damage had been done to the shelter, they were returned. By then, school parents had already been told to make arrangements to keep their children home for the day.

The decision has outraged many New Yorkers, who say it is further evidence that Adams is prioritizing the thousands of migrants who have come to the city over taxpaying residents and their families.

Among those criticizing is New York State Assemblyman Mike Reilly from Staten Island, who said Adams took the issue “beyond the threshold” of common sense.

“For more than a year, I and common-sense colleagues from across New York City have been outspoken about the placement of temporary migrant shelters in our community and our public schools.

“We highlighted with great concern the impact these types of facilities would have on public safety and quality of life.

“We were called conspiracy theorists for even suggesting the possibility that taxpaying New Yorkers would be displaced to make room for those here illegally.

‘We have officially crossed the threshold. “City officials are now setting a dangerous precedent for the future of this crisis,” he said.

Texas Congressman Wesley Hunt fumed: “This should infuriate us all! We have an obligation to the American people to end this madness.

‘First luxury hotels and now THIS. I’m coming to a high school near you, Biden’s illegal immigrants.

“It starts at James Madison High School, which is used as a migrant shelter.

“For the record, we have homeless vets sleeping on the streets of America every night!”
