Inside Jess Eva’s incredible makeover: How The Block star lost 20kg and transformed herself into a glamorous TV star after suffering a ‘midlife awakening’ and eating a Domino’s pizza every day

Media personality Jess Eva has come a long way since her days on The Block.

Since shooting to fame in the renovation series with her husband Norm in 2018, the 39-year-old has transformed herself into a glamorous television star as the presenter of Studio 10.

At her heaviest, Jess tipped the scales at 95kg, and she has now lost 20kg and had a stunning makeover, complete with new platinum blonde locks and glossy white veneers.

Speaking to Ny Breaking Australia, Jess admitted she struggled with depression after appearing on The Block and turned to emotional eating to cope with the stress.

“I was so depressed and so fat that I ordered a large pizza from Domino's, and it was a four-minute drive from Domino's to my house, and I couldn't even wait β€” I would finish the pizza before I got home,” she said.

'That's how desperately I was looking for some form of happiness.'

The funny woman finally decided to turn things around in 2019 after what she calls her “midlife awakening.”

“I realized it was a midlife crisis, but I don't want to call it that β€” I want to call it a midlife awakening,” she explained.

“I didn't want to spend the rest of my life not having to drive four minutes with the smell of Hawaiian pizza in my car before it was gone.”

Jess has spent more than $50,000 to improve her appearance, although she says these figures are vastly exaggerated.

“I don't have $50,000 and if I did, I'd get my boobs done!” she joked.

The mother of two started her lifestyle change in 2019 when she partnered with healthy meal delivery service Lite N Easy to lose weight.

She was able to lose 10kg in just two months by swapping fast food for Lite N Easy.

β€œIt was time to make a change,” she admitted to NW magazine at the time.

She has since lost another 10kg through strict diet and exercise.

Jess also admitted that part of her health journey was learning to love herself just the way she was.

'I used to feel very insecure about my body. I hated my nose, I thought I was fat, that my butt was big. I hated my toes,” she told Who magazine.

β€œBut now that I'm getting older, I just think of it as a pair of walking sticks and a pair of hands. It gets me where I want to be and I'm the happiest I've ever been.'

Jess's media career has exploded over the past five years, with the former Block star enjoying a successful radio stint on Triple M before becoming co-host of Studio 10.

Last year, Jess told Ny Breaking Australia that she had given up 'emotional eating' for good.

The term refers to the practice of consuming food as a way to provide comfort while experiencing negative feelings such as stress.

β€œI have two takeaways near me on the drive home,” she explained. 'It was like drinking coffee at the end of the day. I stopped doing that.'

The mother-of-two said a new exercise regime, including cycling with her children, had also helped the radio star achieve a trim figure.

“I feel healthier,” she said, adding that watching what she ate was key to dieting.

“I'm trying to keep the carbs down because my ass explodes even if I see one!” she joked.
