Inside Geri and Christian Horner’s relationship: Controversial start to romance, star-studded wedding and blended family as Formula One boss is ‘under investigation’ for ‘inappropriate behaviour’

Geri Halliwell’s husband, Christian Horner, is under investigation for ‘inappropriate behaviour’.

Allegations regarding Christian flew over the weekend ahead of the new season starting next month.

They are flatly denied by the father of two and no evidence of this has been found.

Former Spice Girl Geri, 51, who married Christian, 50, in 2015, has not yet commented on the claims.

First meeting and separating from his partner of 14 years

Geri and Christian mixed in social circles before they started dating.

Christian first met the Spice Girl at the Monaco Grand Prix in 2009.

“Geri) was a guest of (former Formula One Group CEO) Bernie Ecclestone in Monaco for a year and came into the pit lane,” he explained. “I remember (McLaren boss) Ron Dennis was standing next to me and Eddie Jordan was there too,” he said earlier The Telegraph.

She gave Ron a kiss on the cheek, and she gave Eddie a kiss on the cheek. So I was like, “Okay, I’m going to get a kiss on the cheek here!” And I went to give her one and she reached out her hand to me.

The relationship between Christian and Geri came under fire after the Formula 1 boss left his long-term partner Beverley Allen six months after the birth of their daughter Olivia.

The pair are said to have briefly split while he tried to salvage his 14-year relationship with Beverley.

Beverley had been by his side throughout his astonishing development as he acted as stepfather to her two sons from a previous relationship, Kieron and Liam.

Involvement

Ginger Spice and Christian announced their engagement in 2014 with an advert in The Times, nine months after they started dating.

‘The engagement is announced between Christian, son of Mr and Mrs GM Horner and Geraldine, daughter of the late Mr LF Halliwell and Mrs A Parkinson.’

Afterwards, Geri wrote on X, formerly Twitter: ‘Christian and I are thrilled to announce that we are engaged! We are both very happy’

Wedding

Geri and Christian married in 2015 at St Mary’s church in Woburn, Bedfordshire.

The Spice Girl chose British designer Phillipa Lepley for her lace A-line wedding dress.

The couple was accompanied by her then nine-year-old daughter Bluebell, whose father is screenwriter Sacha Gervasi.

Guests included Geri’s former Spice Girls co-star Emma Bunton, radio presenter and singer Myleene Klass and TV presenter Amanda Holden.

Christian’s parents were reportedly devastated when the sports professional left his partner of 14 years, Beverley Allen, to work with the chart-topping star and therefore opted not to see the duo tie the knot.

Children and family life

The singer shares Bluebell, 17, with her screenwriter ex Sacha, who she dated in 2005. They separated before her birth.

She married Formula 1 team boss Christian Horner in 2015. They have a son together named Monty, six years old. Christian also has daughter Olivia, nine, from his relationship with ex Beverley.

Geri admitted that they are now ‘taking a challenge’ in raising Monty with her ‘loving’ husband Christian, due to her past experiences.

The Spice Girl joined Giovanna Fletcher on her Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast and took advantage of her “very different setup” to raise both her children.

She explained that she needed “broad shoulders” to raise Bluebell as a single parent, but later struggled with “learning how to be a team.”

Geri told Giovanna, “I’ve been through both and I can tell you that, yes, I had my mom to help me with Blue. So I’m very grateful. And her grandpa is beautiful, so he was a great role model for her.

“He takes her to soccer, which is great and I think you know they both have their blessings and their challenges.

‘As a single parent, mother, you don’t have to answer to anyone, but it’s all on you. And that can be quite stressful and you have to take responsibility. All responsibilities lie with you in every respect.

‘Broad shoulders are needed and sometimes it is lonely. So that’s what I experienced. And then, you know, the blessing of having a lovely husband or partner, which I’ve experienced. That is amazing.

‘So it’s not just you, but then you have to compromise. Maybe we, you know, we’re all different in the way we think things should be done. So learning to be a team was a challenge for me.”

Accusations

Christian is fighting for his job as Red Bull team boss after the Formula 1 team launched an investigation into allegations of ‘inappropriate behaviour’.

MailOnline understands that the allegations surrounding it relate to claims of misconduct by a team employee.

Christian described the allegations as “crazy” in a message protesting his innocence to MailOnline.

A source within the Red Bull team added that the claims investigated were related to “incredibly controlling behavior.” Chrisian said: ‘I completely deny these claims.’

A statement from Red Bull Austria, the team’s parent company, said: ‘After becoming aware of recent allegations, the company initiated an independent investigation.

‘This investigation, which is already underway, is being carried out by an external specialized lawyer. The company takes these matters very seriously and the investigation will be completed as quickly as possible. It would not be appropriate to make any further comment at this time.”

The confirmation of the investigation follows 36 hours of denials by the Milton Keynes factory of any alleged wrongdoing.
