Inside Frozen star Samantha Barks’ lavish baby shower: Pregnant star enjoys baby-themed cookies, grandma’s china and diaper cake

She is expecting her first child with husband Alex Stoll.

And Samantha Barks made sure to celebrate the occasion in style at her lavish baby shower on Monday — with her near and dear ones.

The musical star, who played Elsa in the West End adaptation of Disney film Frozen, went all out for the party with a beautiful afternoon tea made up like an incredible meadow table.

The singer, 32, took to Instagram to give fans a preview of the special day.

Among the food options for the day, guests had the chance to choose from bruschetta, macaroons, cupcakes, and intricately designed baby-inspired cookies.

There was also a three-layer “diaper cake” with two small milk bottles on top for decoration.

The table was decorated with a beautiful selection of white roses and heart-shaped candles.

Samantha even shared that she used her grandmother’s afternoon tea set for the occasion, stunningly decorated with navy blue detailing.

Captioning her post, Samantha wrote, ‘Baby Shower❤️

‘Yesterday was one of the best days of my life, all my amazing friends together in a day organized to perfection by my amazing sister @klbarks ❤️

‘She put so much thought into the day and had all my favorite foods and so many magical touches!!

‘My whole family made this day incredible and brought all my grandma’s afternoon tea China which was so special❤️

“Thank you to all my lovely friends for being there and making it so incredible ❤️❤️❤️”

Samantha announced on her Instagram at the beginning of this month that she was expecting her first child.

In addition to taking the stage, the singer also appeared in BBC’s I’d Do Anything, reprising the role of Nancy in Oliver! in 2008.

Sharing her pregnancy news with her followers, Samantha shared a photo of a white basket with a pair of baby boots and a teddy bear.

Inside the basket was a note that read, “We’ve been keeping a little secret. Baby barks Stoll. Due in October 2023.’

Alongside the post, Samantha wrote, “We are so excited to meet your little one.”

Samantha also shared a video of her West Highland Terrier, Ivy’s paws covering an ultrasound image of their unborn child.

Samantha and Alex’s hands covered Ivy’s paws, taking turns removing them from the shot before revealing the scan.

Referring to her dog, Samantha wrote, “@missivybarks being promoted❤️.”

The couple was inundated with congratulations from their friends and fans in the comments section of the post.

EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa and American actress Rachel Zegler both sent their best wishes, with Rachel writing: “CONGRATULATIONS!”

Meanwhile, Irish actress Stephanie McKeon wrote, “Woooo!! Ivy Gives Big Sister Extraordinaire! So happy for you!!’

The parents who tied the knot last June and the Les Misérables star took to her Instagram grid on Tuesday to share the news at the time.

She wrote: JUST MARRIED Thank you all for your sweet messages on our wedding day! Currently enjoying a mini moon in beautiful Italy! Thank you! #justmarried #minihoneymoon.'(sic)

The actress met Alex when she starred opposite him in the Broadway musical version of Pretty Woman in 2018.

The couple got into a relationship before the actor finally popped the question in February 2021.

At the time, Samantha said, “Just like Beyoncé…but with an F!”, while Alex added, “One knee. A ring. Two happily engaged people. I love you honey!’.

In an instant, Samantha donned a scarlet bikini with matching mesh shirt as she cooked her new husband’s dinner on the barbeque.

Alex was also seen topping up his tan as he lay shirtless on a poolside lounger, pouring his bride a glass of champagne as she shows off his new gold wedding ring for the camera.

Fans and celebrity friends rushed to congratulate the couple with fellow actress Martine McCutcheon writing: What a beautiful couple you are. Congratulations!’

While singer Fleur East added: ‘Yay!!! Congratulations both!’.

American-born Alex moved to London with Samantha after Pretty Woman closed and she previously explained that suddenly moving in together due to the COVID-19 pandemic was a “really good test” of their relationship.

She said, “That’s a really good test of a relationship — being together every second of every day!” (When he proposed), we were in the middle of a forest, on a bridge completely covered in snow and suddenly he was down on one knee. It was really a romantic moment!’.

Ahead of their big day, the star wore a white dress and pearl-encrusted cap with “Bride” written on it as she enjoyed her bachelorette party with friends.

“There’s nothing like a wedding to celebrate all the wonderful people in your life who show up for you,” said Samantha, who played Éponine in the Oscar-winning film version of Les Miserables.

Samantha looked radiant in a plethora of snaps shared on her social media as she documented various events leading up to her big day.

The theater star wore a white off-the-shoulder dress with a ruffled hen for her main bachelorette party, with Samantha completing her look with her eye-catching hat.

While in other images, she looks stunning in a white broderie anglaise dress and nude heels.

Samantha previously dated former Coronation Street star Richard Fleeshman for a year in 2013.

The pair even lived together, but their busy schedules drove them apart and they split in December 2014.

Prior to Richard, Samantha dated male model David Gandy for five months before breaking up in October 2013.

She was also linked to TV presenter Matt Johnson between 2012 and 2013 and pop star Nick Jonas from 2010 to 2011.
