The TV chef died last month, two years after he revealed he was undergoing treatment for an unspecified form of cancer and BBC Two continued to air his final Hairy Bikers series.
A triumphant Dave tells the camera: ‘It was tough at times. I was on chemotherapy the whole time we were filming. It wasn’t easy, but we got there and it’s a great feeling.”
Si adds, “We did it, but more importantly, he did it.” He then begins to well up as he says: “He’s my buddy, but I love him like family, like a brother, and I have no words for it. It’s pretty remarkable what he’s done.”
“Who knows what the future holds, but right now I’m living in the present, and it’s going pretty well,” a smiling Dave adds.
After the credits roll, a tribute reads, “In loving memory of our friend, Dave Myers.”
Dave was filming his final show last year, which had only just aired on BBC Two, when Si announced his friend had died.
The BBC decided to continue broadcasting the series as a tribute.
Previous episodes in the series showed Si filming solo while Dave continued his treatment.
When the TV chef was left without his significant other, Si shared some heartfelt words as he reflected on how strange it felt to be without his partner.

He admitted: “I really wish my best friend was here because he would absolutely love this,” before adding: “It’s strange without him.”
The Hairy Bikers have always been a double act, and Si admitted he found it strange traveling alone by bike.
“I especially didn’t enjoy riding alone, but I’m going to bring him back some produce and start nibbling on it. It’s strange without him.’
When Dave returned to visit a historic railway line in Portmadog, he harbored a lifelong ambition to drive a steam train.
The star explained: ‘When I visited this area as a young lad, Bob would have already been working on these impressive locomotives. Unfortunately, we didn’t have the money to ride these rails at the time, so this trip feels all the more special.”
After watching his good friend go through the experience, Si said, “It was fun seeing my best friend drive a train. It was just lovely to see a smile on his face because he was having a bloody hard time.’
Si wells up when he says at the end of the show, “He’s my buddy, but I love him like family, like a brother, and I have no words for it. It’s quite remarkable what he’s done.”
Dave added: “I missed this, last year Kingy, such a terrible year,” before continuing with the heartbreaking words: “Thirty years we’ve been talking nonsense, and yet it goes on for a long time.”
Dave announced he was receiving treatment for cancer in May 2022 and bravely kept the public informed of his progress in a series of emotional TV specials.
He died in late February with his family and friends by his side, including his lifelong friend Si.
It was Si who announced the sad news of Dave’s death and shared a tribute on social media.
A week later, Dave’s wife Lili shared a heartbreaking tribute to her late husband on the Hairy Biker account.
“Who knows what the future holds, but right now I’m living in the present, and that’s pretty good,” adds a laughing Dave

‘I will never be able to thank you enough for the enormous outpouring of love, compassion and care you have shown to me, Simon and our families in the last few days since Dave’s passing.
“I want you all to know that I have read every message and comment you have sent… your stories about Dave, your feelings that you have shared with me mean a lot and my heart is filled with gratitude and love.
“I’m amazed at how many hearts he touched and how many people wanted to express their love for what Dave and Si have created over the last twenty years. I know the Hairy Bikers have been a part of your living rooms for so long and I feel your loss as much as you feel mine!
At the end of every episode aired since Dave’s death, a tribute is broadcast with the words “In loving memory of our friend”
“My husband, David Myers, was a larger-than-life character and he did everything with passion, enthusiasm and generosity of spirit. His energy was endless when it came to cooking and talking about recipes, or cycling and talking about cycling.
‘A great storyteller! And through his stories and TV appearances, he continually inspired and encouraged people to cook, travel and live life to the fullest.
‘An exceptional husband, wonderful stepfather, loyal friend and, in his own words, a creator, never a follower.
“I feel like I’m grieving with an entire nation… and this is something special. My wonderful Dave – Lili Myers.’
