Dakota Johnson and Jeremy Allen White made a splash when they hit the beach in Miami this week, with onlookers surprised by their unlikely friendship.
The private couple tends to keep their personal lives under wraps but have been seen together in posts from mutual friends.
In fact, their friendship goes back years, thanks to Dakota’s strong bond with Jeremy’s ex-wife Addison Timlin and the trio’s mutual friend, Blake Lee.
Even Jeremy’s split from Dakota’s best friend Addison hasn’t broken their bond, as the pair were seen enjoying quality time together this week.
As Dakota was godmother to Jeremy’s two daughters, she was no doubt also happy to spend some time with Ezer, five, and Dolores, three.

While it is not known exactly when Jeremy and Dakota met, the pair were first pictured together in 2017 when they attended the Women’s March in protest following President Donald Trump’s inauguration.
Later that year, The Bear star also attended Dakota’s mother Melanie Griffith’s 60th birthday, along with his wife Addison.
However, it seems likely that the pair were linked well beyond that time, as Dakota was chosen as godmother to Jeremy’s unborn daughter with Addison in 2018, and the actress was rumored to have hosted the star’s baby shower.
The following year, when Jeremy tied the knot with Addison, Dakota and her partner Chris served as witnesses as they exchanged vows during an intimate courthouse ceremony in Beverly Hills.
Although Jeremy and Addison have always been steadfastly private about their relationship, it is known that they became friends at their performing arts high school in 2005 and subsequently starred in the 2008 film Afterschool.
However, it wasn’t meant to be and in court documents mentioned by Addison, she listed their separation date as September 1, 2022.
Addison had previously thanked Dakota for her involvement in her children’s lives, sharing a sweet Instagram post in October 2021 with the caption: ‘Congratulations on my bright and shiny and Ezer and Dolly’s godmother.
‘Here you look the godmother of all. We love you so much, thank you for being born and raising children with me, it’s the best.”
Addison and Dakota have a mutual friend, Parks and Recreation star Blake Lee (pictured), and the trio often hung out with Addison’s husband Jeremy.

In 2018, Dakota was chosen as godmother to Jeremy’s unborn daughter with Addison, and the actress was rumored to have hosted the star’s baby shower.
Although Jeremy and Addison’s divorce appeared amicable, the Shameless star later agreed to several provisions in the custody agreement for their daughters.
Jeremy has canceled daily alcohol testing to spend time with his daughters, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
Under the terms, Jeremy will be tested when his children are in his care, and if alcohol is detected in the actor’s system, another test will take place 15 minutes later.
If the retest is positive, the actor’s freedom rights to the children will be revoked until further actions are decided.
The custody arrangement also includes Jeremy agreeing to no fewer than “two AA meetings per week,” along with other therapies, according to court documents.
Jeremy is said to have been in a relationship with Rosalía, the Spanish singer, since October last year. Addison is believed to be single.
