King Charles returned to his official London residence Clarence House, with his wife Queen Camilla by his side, as he underwent cancer treatment.
Charles, 75, returned there last night after the palace announced that doctors had unexpectedly discovered a previously unspecified form of cancer while the king was undergoing unrelated treatment for a benign prostate condition.
Built in the 1820s, the property features five bedrooms, a formal drawing room and a morning room, packed with family portraits and antiques.
Clarence House is located on The Mall in the city of Westminster and has been home to King Charles III and Queen Camilla for almost 20 years.
The royal couple – who returned to Sandringham this afternoon after the king rested at Clarence House following treatment earlier today for an unspecified form of cancer – are “very comfortable” at their London residence, royal sources previously said . The Sunday times.

Clarence House, designed by John Nash and built in 1825-1827 for the Duke of Clarence, is located next to St James’s Palace on The Mall.
But despite its generous size of 2,646 square meters, the London residence is one of the smallest monarch properties in the world.
The Grade II listed building, which serves as the king’s residence and his household’s office, features five bedrooms and a morning room, packed with family portraits and antiques, as well as plush red-carpeted corridors.
Five of the main rooms serve as reception areas for entertaining and receiving diplomatic visits.
The Lancaster Room features a central fireplace and views over the garden, shared with St James’s Palace.
Meanwhile, The Morning Room, which has retained its essence since the time of the Queen Mother, has serene cream walls and large cupboards full of books, souvenirs and antiques.
Much of the Queen Mother’s famous art collection, including 20th-century paintings by John Piper, Graham Sutherland, WS Sickert and Augustus John, is still on display.
The opulent room, with beautiful blue curtains, is best known for Prince George’s christening in 2013, with a photo of the event prominently displayed on a low coffee table, surrounded by others of Princess Charlotte, Prince William and Prince Harry.

The Library, located between the Morning Room and the Dining Room, serves as a reception area for informal events, such as tea.
Additionally, the dining room, which is decorated with an array of artwork including images of the family’s three previous dogs, has seating for 12 people.
An extensive hallway, lined with soft red carpet, leads to the Garden Room, a favorite of Princess Margaret.

The beautiful space has four large windows overlooking the immaculate garden.
For almost 50 years, from 1953 to 2002, Clarence House was home to Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, and it is still decorated to her taste.
The house was the home of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh when they first married and Prince Charles grew up in the stately home.
It served as the official residence for Prince William from 2003 until his marriage in 2011 and for Prince Harry from 2003 to 2012, and is now the official residence of Charles and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.
King Charles has other houses in places including Highgrove in Gloucestershire, Birkhall on the Balmoral Estate in Scotland and Llwynywermod in Wales.
