Inside Brad Pitt’s battle to fix his ‘broken’ bond with daughter Shiloh: Actor is ‘confident he can rekindle their relationship’ now that dancer is 18 and can no longer be ‘kept from him’ by her mom Angelina Jolie

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s daughter Shiloh celebrated her milestone 18th birthday this month — but the occasion also served as a major turning point for the actor, who believes his child’s first steps into adulthood will give him the chance to mend their fractured bond .

Pitt, 60, has had a strained relationship with the six children he shares with his ex-wife, Angelina, 48, since the A-listers called it quits in 2016, with DailyMail.com revealing earlier this month that the former bodyguard of the couple accused the actress of poisoning their children’s bond with their father.

Now a source close to the star has told DailyMail.com that the actor is “confident” he can strengthen his relationship with aspiring dancer Shiloh, who turned 18 on May 27, because she is now legally an adult and therefore is free to make her own decisions about the time they spend together.

“Now that Shiloh is 18, she can decide how she wants her relationship with her father to develop,” the insider said.

The source further said that since the couple’s split, the Maleficent actress has ensured their children have had “limited involvement” with their father.

“That’s still the case in the minors, but at Shiloh it’s no longer Angie’s choice,” they continued.

“If Shiloh chooses to have limited contact with her father, that is her decision.”

The source said Pitt would still “love her unconditionally” no matter what she did.

‘The difference between now and [a few] days ago [before her birthday] is that Shiloh makes the choice,” they emphasized.

The insider continued to say that he can now contact his daughter without any consequences from Jolie.

“Everyone is confident that in time they will rekindle the bond that was broken by the divorce,” they said confidently.

“Keeping Shiloh for Brad is no longer an option for Angelina.”

Meanwhile, a second source told DailyMail.com that Brad would ‘never relinquish’ his duties as a father and would ‘always’ be just a phone call away if his children want to get a hold of him.

“That’s just the maturity that he has in him and the man that Brad is and has always been,” they explained.

The insider continued, “As the kids get older and are able to make more decisions for themselves, whether it’s Shiloh or someone else, if those decisions reflect positively or negatively on the father he wants to be, he understands that it is . adults and can decide for themselves what they want to do.’

The source stated that Pitt wanted to be there for his children “first and foremost.”

“Angie can make them think differently, but the truth is Brad always wants them to know he has their back,” they said, adding the truth: “always seems to find a way to put himself forward places.’

“Brad never wants to have any regrets, so when he’s 70, 80 or 90, he would always like to see his kids and have a relationship with them.

“He would like Shiloh to make her own decisions and be involved in her future, so he just has to see what happens and hope for the best.”

DailyMail.com has contacted representatives for both Pitt and Jolie for comment.

The exes have since not only been embroiled in a contentious custody battle since their split, but have also feuded over the circumstances under which their relationship ended and their ongoing business affairs.

Keeping the kids close has been difficult for Pitt, who has been out and about with his kids since splitting with Jolie.

Earlier in May, a source alleged that the Hollywood actress was trying to drive a wedge between her estranged husband and their six children in the wake of their divorce, according to court papers filed in LA Superior Court.

In an explosive statement seen by DailyMail.com, an ex-bodyguard of the couple, former British SAS soldier Tony Webb, claimed he was informed by his own contractors that Jolie insisted her children avoid Pitt while she retained custody of had them.

Documents filed with the court, seen by DailyMail.com, show that Webb’s colleague told him he heard Jolie “encouraged the children not to spend time with Pitt during custody visits.”

In April, DailyMail.com reported that the 48-year-old actress and mother of six accused her 60-year-old estranged husband of physical and emotional abuse before the 2016 private jet incident.

The court papers alleged that Jolie had evidence of “Pitt’s history of physical abuse of the family and abuse of control of Jolie” and claimed that the children continued to experience “significant and persistent post-traumatic stress.”

Pitt has denied all allegations of physical abuse and was not charged following an FBI investigation into the in-flight incident.

In March this year, DailyMail.com reported that the couple was finally nearing the finish line in their epic legal war, which was expected to end in the summer after the actor reportedly dropped his pursuit of shared custody.

While Pitt had originally sought a 50/50 settlement regarding their six children, an insider revealed he was no longer contesting the matter.

That means Jolie would retain primary physical custody of the children and he would have visitation rights.

One factor in that decision was that much of their brood was ‘old age’ – only Knox and Vivienne, both 15, are under 18.

In a statement to DailyMail.com regarding the ongoing legal battle with Pitt, her lawyer, Paul Murphy, said earlier this month: ‘Angelina looks forward to the eventual conclusion of this lawsuit with its false stories that continue to hurt the family. and interfere with their ability to heal.”

In 2020, Pax called Brad a “world-class asshole” and a “despicable person” on his Instagram account who made his four youngest children “tremble in fear”

Adopted son Pax reportedly hasn’t spoken to the Fight Club alum since the now infamous private plane fight that ended the marriage, and it’s said he doesn’t even consider Brad a parent anymore.

In 2020, he called Brad a “world-class asshole” and a “despicable person” on his private Instagram account who made his four youngest children “tremble in fear,” as previously revealed by DailyMail.com.

In the scathing post, shared on Father’s Day, he added: ‘You prove time and time again that you are a terrible and despicable person.

“You have no compassion or empathy for your four youngest children, who tremble with fear whenever they are in your presence.

“You will never understand the damage you have caused to my family because you are incapable of doing so.”

Additionally, Zahara is now called ‘Zahara Jolie’ instead of ‘Zahara Jolie Pitt’, which is her legal name.
