They are one of the most successful couples in Hollywood and have been married for almost thirty years.
But Baz Lurhmann and Catherine Martin seem to be living separate lives these days.
Award-winning filmmaker Baz was spotted at Taylor Swift’s concert in Sydney on Friday night in the singer’s star-studded box, along with her NRL star boyfriend Travis Kelce, Katy Perry and fellow filmmaker Taika Waititi and his wife Rita Ora.
The Romeo + Juliet director was seen dancing like no one was watching, with his wife notably missing despite the fact they lived on the Gold Coast, a short one-hour flight from Sydney.
The couple recently moved into “a cabin” in the beach area of Miami, where they have downsized from the mansion they lived in since moving to the glitter strip in 2020 to make their sixth film Elvis.

In a recent interview with The Australian’s Wish magazine, Martin spoke about their unique marriage.
The Academy Award-winning costume designer said the pair regularly speak on the phone when he is in New York and she is staying at their seaside Gold Coast cabin.
Martin says she enjoys the ‘work-life balance’ on the Gold Coast, where she takes long morning walks on the beach every day and teaches classes at her local Pilates studio.
“I called Baz this morning, I was walking on my way to Pilates and he was wondering about the weather because he was in New York,” she said in the interview.

It is not known whether Baz has since joined his wife at their Gold Coast home after attending Taylor’s concert on Friday, or returned to the couple’s mansion in the Big Apple.
Baz was recently forced to put split rumors to rest after fans noticed uncanny similarities to the failed marriage of Australian actor Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness.
The director confirmed that the couple was still very much in love.

Baz and Martin have been married for 27 years and have just seen their own children Lilly, 20, and William, 18, move out of their home.
They have put their Gilded Age mansion in New York up for sale for $28 million as they downsize to their empty nester home in Australia.
“Since the pandemic and the making of the movie Elvis in Australia, our work has largely kept us away from our base in New York City,” Baz told the New York Post’s Gimme Shelter.
“We recorded Elvis entirely on Queensland’s Gold Coast and will continue to develop shows that can be recorded there.”
