Inside America’s most expensive mobile homes and glitzy beach-side trailer parks where one-bedders can easily go for millions

Million-dollar mobile homes are hitting the market in exclusive beachfront communities coveted by celebrities and the ultra-wealthy.

Real estate prices have soared across the country, especially in California and New York, where they have reached record highs in cities like Los Angeles and Manhattan.

And while a mobile home – often no more than one bedroom and one bathroom – may seem like an effective cost-saving measure, the latest properties to hit the market are far from a bargain.

This includes a $3.2 million, 6,000-square-foot home that goes up for sale Thursday. The property is located in Montauk, a glitzy New York hamlet known for its beaches and scenic views.

The home has two bedrooms and one bathroom and is currently the most expensive active listing in the Montauk Shores mobile home park.

Vitamin Water co-founder J. Darius Bikoff, singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett and film producer Karen Lauder are among the famous faces buying up their own piece of property.

The newest mobile home on the market has its own driveway, outdoor shower and a sun-drenched veranda at the rear.

The ad promotes expansion options, including “adding additional bedrooms, creating an outdoor entertainment area or incorporating eco-friendly features.”

Residents in the gated community share amenities including a swimming pool, basketball court and clubhouse.

While Montauk Shores may be the most prominent name on the East Coast, California is home to several upscale trailer parks.
