An urban explorer has made horrifying finds in an abandoned morgue that still retains the eeriness of the dead processed here.
Photos taken by urban explorer Macorlee Farnaby, 26, of Suffolk, show a pristine, dilapidated morgue with items such as a table, hanging apron, gloves, body salt, an old can of air freshener, oxide plaster tape, bucket and blood washbasin and other sickly equipment.
Mr Farnaby, a rescuer, used his skills and passion to uncover this pristine abandoned building just outside Hull, in East Yorkshire.
He walked through overgrown fields and fenced areas to reach this spot whose door refused to give way even on several attempts, but finally found an open opening where a window had been removed.
Mr Farnaby said he was ‘struck by the smell of death’ upon entering the morgue.
“It felt like we weren’t there alone, we were being watched by someone. The apron was still hanging, the gloves and cleaning brush almost ready for use. It felt like I was in a horror movie,” he said.

Upon entering, he said, “There was a sense that someone else was there in that place. It could have been a speck of dust or someone from beyond the grave. But there was still some beauty to the place, an old and rustic feel.’

Instead, he managed to gain entry by finding an open opening where a window should be. When he entered, he said he was “struck by the smell of death.”
The morgue, just outside Hull, appears to be abandoned and untouched, but Mr Faany said ‘it felt like we weren’t there alone but were being watched by someone’. He continued: “Bird droppings were everywhere. The apron was still hanging, the gloves and cleaning brush almost ready for use. It felt like I was in a horror movie.’
Rubber and old solution bottles were found as part of Mr Farnaby’s exploration of the abandoned morgue. He said: ‘The place was not destroyed and there was a natural decay everywhere’.
The hanging apron, the morgue examination table and the pair of old boots give this place an eerie look. The city explorer who made the chilling discovery described what it was like when he entered.
