Inkblot test will reveal if you are unable to move on from the past and ever be happy
This optical illusion can reveal if you are stuck in the past and unable to be happy.
Content creator and psychology student Cecilia Ann took to TikTok to explain how to use the Rorschach test.
The Rorschach test is a psychological experiment that can reveal information about your personality based on what you see in the ink blot.
And while the credibility of the test is often up for debate, Cecilia has revealed a surprising way it can tell you if you’re holding on to a trauma.

Content creator and psychology student Cecilia Ann has taken to TikTok to explain how to use the Rorschach test
The Washington-based content creator took to the video-sharing platform to explain how the test could help you figure out if you had mental disorders based on what you saw.
If you saw something extremely complicated in the ink blot, you may have some emotional trauma.
The test is a psychological test designed by psychiatrist Hermann Rorschach.
‘The test consists of presenting images of ink blots to a test subject; the person then describes what they see in these spots. The test can reportedly assess personality, emotional functioning, or certain mental disorders,” he said Psychology today.
Cecilia showed viewers an image of an ink blot and asked them what they saw before diving into a statement.
She said she read the book called The Body Keeps Score by Bessel van der Kolk, who wrote about the test.
The content creator said the author alluded to “war veterans, people with PTSD, and people with trauma, and how the… test can tell you a lot about those people.”
So while someone hasn’t had a super-traumatic experience, they might say, “I see two people dancing, I see a cat, or I just see ink on paper,” the trauma researcher noted that many veterans would. When you see these images and suddenly relive their trauma, they have flashbacks,” she added.
If you saw something extraordinarily complex in the inkblot, you may be experiencing emotional trauma, Cecilia said
Cecilia explained that if you saw anything complicated in the images, you were most likely “stuck in the past,” adding that this was common among veterans suffering trauma.
She added: “While our imagination allows us to get out of our daily routine – to fantasize about food or travel…those things are taken away by trauma.”
Referring to the book, the content creator explained that people struggling with trauma may suffer from “a lack of imagination — a loss of mental flexibility,” adding that there was a risk that there was “no hope of imagining the future and no place to go, no goal to reach.’
She then quoted Sigmund Freud as saying, “I think this man is troubled by memories.”
The inkblot test has long divided the world, with even Cecilia claiming there is no “one size fits all” answer.
