Injured Geelong star Jeremy Cameron called a ‘cartoon character’ after posting hilarious post-surgery videos and images while eating McDonalds and high on painkillers

  • The Cats season was ended last Saturday by Saints
  • A large number of players have been booked for surgery
  • Cameron shared hilarious footage of the aftermath

Geelong AFL star Jeremy Cameron has posted hilarious photos and videos he took on his phone while high on painkillers after shoulder surgery.

The Cats star was booked for surgery on his AC joint after St Kilda finished Geelong’s season last weekend so that Cameron could get a head start on his pre-season recovery.

It comes just days after Cameron was allegedly headbutted in an unprovoked assault at a pub in Geelong on Saturday night.

When he came out of anesthesia for surgery, Cameron – whose nickname is Dart – found his phone nearby and made a hilarious video, slurring his words and boasting with a beaming smile.

Hey guys, welcome back to Dart’s YouTube channel. I feel pretty good right now, yes,” he said.

“Phwoar had an accident, I just want to let you know that I fell out of my boat.”

Cameron also shared a photo where he looked extremely pleased with himself as he ate a well-deserved McDonalds after his surgery.

Cameron realized what he had done and decided to share the footage and photos with his fanbase on Instagram with the caption, “Solid day on the tools here. Reminder to hide phone (smiling emoji). I look forward to feeling 100 percent.

Cameron is known for posting hilarious videos on his social media channels, including losing his premiership medal to a cow in the wake of last year’s grand final celebrations.

He also shared a giddy message at his ground in Geelong as he recovered from a chill at the hands of teammate Gary Rohan earlier this season.

And his fans quickly applauded him for sharing the new batch of hilarious content.

“Jezza is a cartoon character, I swear,” one fan replied.

“This has got to be the most random post I’ve seen,” added another.

“From now on, every time a footballer does something stupid, we have to say ‘he fell out of his boat’.” suggested another.

“Omg Jeremy, I always try to make everyone laugh. PS: you should have hidden the phone from yourself,” another fan posted.

Geelong will sit out a bevy of premiership stars including Tom Hawkins and Jeremy Cameron for their final round match against the Western Bulldogs.

After being knocked out of the final race by a defeat to St Kilda last Saturday night, the Cats are already looking forward to 2024.

Flag-winning forward Hawkins, Cameron and Gary Rohan struggle with several injuries and are in no danger during Norm Smith medalist Isaac Smith’s retirement match.

Already on the sidelines, Mark Blicavs and Cam Guthrie will focus on getting ready for next year rather than rushing to come back.

Small forward Brad Close (ankle) and defender Esava Ratugolea (hamstring) have already been ruled out by coach Chris Scott after pulling up painfully against the Saints.

“We had to be proactive about some of the decisions we had to make,” said Geelong football boss Simon Lloyd.

Gary Rohan will have surgery on his ankle on Wednesday and Jeremy Cameron on his tricky AC joint.

“It was incredible that he (Cameron) was able to continue to perform at a certain level, and now is the time to be proactive about that surgery on his AC joint.”
