Marcus Rashford was spotted confronting a member of the crowd at Old Trafford during Manchester United’s warm-up ahead of their match against Newcastle on Wednesday evening.
Footage on social media showed the England international responding to a supporter as he went through his preparations.
Rashford was not included in Erik ten Hag’s starting line-up for Wednesday’s match as the forward had not played since United’s FA Cup semi-final win over Coventry City in April after suffering an ankle injury.
In one video, Rashford was seen having a back-and-forth conversation with a member of the crowd as he walked away from his teammates to the touchline as they went through pre-match preparations.
In another, Rashford was seen being led away from the touchline by his teammates as Christian Eriksen tried to grab his arm.

A fan can be heard telling those sitting near a group of photographers to ‘just leave him’ [Rashford] only.’
“Don’t listen to him Rashford,” one supporter could be heard shouting as the Man United players returned to the dressing rooms after their warm-up.
Rashford was cheered by supporters as a second-half substitute in Man United’s 3-2 win over Newcastle.
It has been a tough season for the Man United star, who has failed to match his tally of 30 goals in the 2022/2023 season.
Despite injuries and off-field problems, the forward has scored just seven goals in the Premier League this season after 31 appearances.
Some United fans have criticized his performances on social media, with renowned YouTuber Mark Goldbridge hitting out at Rashford for his lack of form.
After receiving online abuse, Rashford gave a worrying update on how he was doing, speaking out against the ‘months of abuse’ he had received and telling fans that ‘enough was enough’.
One United fan had published a message on X (formerly Twitter) saying: ‘The way Marcus Rashford is being treated is absolutely disgusting. It’s cruel. It’s abuse.’
The United striker wrote back claiming he was fed up with the abuse he has suffered in recent months. ‘I appreciate your support! It’s abuse and has been for months. Enough is enough,” Rashford said.

But it seems Rashford is still being abused by United fans even at Old Trafford, with the prescient outraged by comments thrown at him during Wednesday’s warm-up.
Earlier this season, the England star faced the wrath of his manager Erik ten Hag after he was spotted on a night out in Belfast, before subsequently failing to show up for training, costing him a place in United’s squad for their FA Cup match against Nieuwpoort province.
Rashford made a statement reflecting on the incident and his season in the Player’s Tribune, stating that people should stop questioning his commitment to Man United.
“Listen, I’m not a perfect person,” Rashford wrote in an article published in the Players’ Stand. “If I make a mistake, I’ll be the first to raise my hand and say I need to do better.

‘But if you ever question my commitment to Man United, then I have to say so.
“It’s like someone is questioning my entire identity and everything I stand for. I grew up here. I have been playing for this club since I was a boy. My family turned down life-changing money when I was little so I could wear this badge.”
