Influencer trolled for mispronouncing the name of a common Italian dish
Her finances already leave a lot to be desired, but it turns out that Christie Swadling’s command of the Italian language isn’t much better.
The 27-year-old fitness influencer has been mocked online for mispronouncing the word “carbonara” in a video sponsored for ready meals by Youfoodz.
She posted a clip to Instagram of her latest Youfoodz delivery, but suffered a gaffe when she pulled out a packet of creamy chicken carbonara.
Swadling pronounced it “cabonara” and missed the first r.
No doubt this would offend the Italians even more than combining carbonara with chicken, when the traditional meat used is guanciale.

It comes after Swadling was caught last month pretending to run the weekly errands when in fact she had been in court to have her finances scrutinized.
The YouTuber, who filed for bankruptcy in December, had arrived at the Toronto Local Court in Lake Macquarie at 9:30 a.m. on April 20 with her boyfriend Joel Price and left just after 10:20 a.m.
The photographer she saw out of court then followed the couple to a pharmacy, where Swadling bought protein powder, before the two went home.
That afternoon, Swadling shared a short video on Instagram, where she has 117,000 followers, announcing that she had been running errands all day.
She made no mention of her appearance in court, giving her fans the impression that she had just run errands before coming home to take care of her stepchildren.

Swadling filmed herself in the mirror wearing a little black dress — the same one she’d worn to the Toronto courthouse — pointing the camera at Price reclining on the couch while his kids played video games in the background.
“Working from home during the school holidays can be challenging,” she wrote.
‘After this morning’s shopping, come home with children’s and dog food. I have only just started working now,” she wrote, adding the 1:29 PM timestamp.

Swadling filed for bankruptcy last year and her day in court was to evaluate her property and financial circumstances as a means of meeting judgment debt.
Arriving at the courthouse, she carried a Louis Vuitton handbag worth $2,840 as she prepared for the inquest to determine if she was able to repay her debts.
Holding a vape in one hand, she was supported by her heavily tattooed boyfriend as she rocked up in an LBD with a dangerously high thigh split.
The social media personality unsuccessfully tried to shield herself from the rain by holding a book over her head.
The result of her financial investigation on April 20 is unclear
In February, it was revealed that Swadling was out of business after an anonymous user on the Tattle Life forums paid $15 to obtain the paperwork for her bankruptcy filing.
She listed her job as an “advertising and marketing professional” in the paperwork filed Dec. 29.
Her bankruptcy status was “unpaid,” meaning she had yet to repay certain debts.
It also meant that she would not be able to borrow from financial institutions again without the announcement of her bankruptcy.
The release of the debtor’s petition did not specify outstanding debts and the results of her April 20 financial inquiry are unclear.
