It's the most wonderful time of the year – unless you have trouble getting your child to sleep for hours.
Influencer Steph Claire Smith, 29, has shared a very candid confession about what life was like celebrating Christmas with her family while raising her two-year-old son Harvey.
The Keep It Cleaner, who Harvey shares with husband Josh Miller, took to Instagram on Sunday to document her hectic family gathering the day before, admitting that the day was both “amazing but also overwhelming in terms of parenting.”
“The morning was probably the hardest, getting everything ready and prepared, while Harvey was extra needy, clingy and emotional,” the fitness entrepreneur lamented.
Steph explained that she had to cuddle and sing Harvey to sleep before his nap, but he woke up several times during the day.

“Luckily by the time family was around he was just distracted by everyone and presents and it was a great afternoon,” she noted, adding, “But Josh and I were absolutely exhausted after a few weeks of late nights and early rises with H.'
Unfortunately, bedtime turned into a nightmare for Steph after Harvey woke up after two hours and refused to go back to sleep without his mother next to him.
Step was forced to say goodnight to her guests and go to bed with her son, before waking up at 4.15am and sneaking out of his room.

Steph noted that she was particularly exhausted because Harvey had been waking up around 5 a.m. for the past few weeks.
Concluding her post, Steph explained that she wanted to be honest about her parenting struggles because she “never wants to show a highlight reel” on her social media.

'Nan and Dad stayed the night and took over the morning shift with Harvey – which meant we were able to nap in bed for about another hour and it was bliss. They also helped tidy up the house that morning – I'm very grateful for their support,” she said.
Steph also shared a photo of herself relaxing alone in the bathroom with a glass of wine, alongside the caption: “I then took five minutes to vent to my mom's group.”
