Influencer sparks backlash after being kicked out of first class and forced to sit in economy

Karina Irby was heavily criticized by her followers this week after revealing that she was kicked out of her “first class seats” and put back into economy following an airline mix-up on a flight.

The influencer, who is the founder of Moana bikiniwas on her way to Hawaii with her partner when she was told that “first class seats” were on hold by another customer who had not yet paid for them.

Karina caused a stir when she complained that she had to listen to “cry babies” within earshot during the flight and sit next to a flyer “watching open-heart surgery for nine hours.”

After she shared the story on Instagram, some of her followers were quick to berate her for complaining about the incident.

‘Oh no. Because of this I can’t sleep tonight. It must be so hard not being able to fly first class. And get reimbursed for it later. The trauma,” one wrote.

“We had to sit with crying babies” “why are childless people so f**king intolerable,” added another.

‘This is BS. You either have the seats or you don’t,” added another.

‘At the reception [the representative] said we couldn’t have them yet and would have to wait a few hours to see if we can take them,” Karina wrote on her stories.

Hours later, Karina opted to get the seats for herself and partner Ryan, eager to experience some luxury on the flight.

After the seats were confirmed by the airline, Karina and Ryan settled into the seats for the long flight to the idyllic island, but they were soon kicked out of the seats and back to economy.

‘We were so excited to relax and sleep in comfort. We skipped our way to the plane and got our seats. I felt so much less anxious and happy,” she said.

‘The staff was extra nice! They put down our blankets, gave us nice drinks and one lady even put a beautiful flower in our ear,” she wrote.

Karina said that’s when a stressed flight attendant told the couple they would have to move to economy because the seats’ “original owners” showed up.

“Oh my God, I’m so sorry, but the original occupants of these seats showed up at the last minute. You will have to move to other economy seats,” she wrote.

Karina said the couple’s fall meant not only economy seats, but “crying babies” within earshot on the run.

“So we ended up in the middle row, with babies crying and a man watching open heart surgery next to me for nine hours,” she wrote.

Karina and Ryan seemed to be in a reasonable mood after the ordeal with her saying the couple should have a sense of humor about it.

The swimwear designer and her boyfriend appeared to laugh off the incident, saying she has not yet received a refund for first class tickets

Karina concluded, “I must love paying for first class but not really using it. No refund yet. That will now be homework for later, I think.’

Karina has a huge following of 1.2 million people on social media where she speaks out about her body image and health issues.

In January, she posted a throwback photo of herself in her teens looking extremely slim where she spoke about the pressure on young women.

Karina revealed that at the time this photo was taken she was restricting her diet and exercising obsessively because she felt the pressure to be thin

While emphasizing that she “had no disorder,” she said her relationship with food and exercise was unhealthy at the time, and that her desire to stay thin was motivated by a twisted belief that it was the only way to be popular .

“I didn’t have a disorder,” she began, “but I did deliberately eat less and do non-stop cardio.”

Karina said she blames “the media” of the time for “brainwashing” her into “thinking you were only beautiful when you were thin.” You would only have friends or a boyfriend if you were thin.’

She added, “It was so toxic and extremely unhealthy, both mentally and physically.

“But I am grateful for my experiences, because now I get to share body love with you. Be the change you want to see,” she finished.
