Influencer Sophie Cachia shares devastating family news after announcing she’s expecting her third child: ‘True heartbreak’
Sophie Cachia has shared her grief following the death of her grandfather.
The 33-year-old influencer announced on Instagram on Friday that her father Bruce has passed away.
“True love affair. My best friend. My favorite person,” she began the emotional post, which was accompanied by several black-and-white photos of her grandfather.
“I miss you so much already, it hurts. I wish you could make fun of me one more time, Dad,” she added.
“I’ll keep reading the paper for you every day. I’ll see you there for a beer sometime, Brucey.”
The photos show Sophie snuggling up to her lively grandfather, sharing her grief over his loss.
The announcement comes after the social media star responded to speculation that her ex-husband Jaryd Cachia is the father of her third child, debunking the “wild” rumours.
Last month she announced on Instagram that she was expecting her third child and later confirmed that it will be a girl.

She has not yet confirmed the identity of the father or sperm donor, leading fans to suspect that her ex-husband Jaryd, 33, who has a new partner, could be the donor.
Sophie has a son, Bobby, nine, and a daughter, Florence, seven, with AFL star Jaryd, from whom she confirmed her split in late 2019.
However, Sophie has now responded firmly to the speculation and, after a pressing question from a fan, has made it clear that Jaryd is not the father of her child.
A follower asked her: ‘I’m so interested in your conception. Sperm donor? Jaryd? Plan to co-parent? Family parent? Not to judge, but to learn and then support! Fully respect privacy.’
Sophie responded by calling fan theories that Jaryd is the father of a girl “wild” and said she doesn’t want to discuss the matter any further for now.
“I miss you so much already, it hurts. I wish you could make fun of me one more time, Dad,” she added
She wrote: ‘I knew I would face questions and intrigue, and that’s perfectly fine. Maybe one day, when I’m ready, I’ll discuss it all.
But what I wasn’t prepared for were the MANY assumptions/questions about my ex-husband being the ‘father.’
“Do you know many people who have kids with their ex 6 years after divorce lol?? Just because we have a friendly family relationship and co-parent our awesome B&F doesn’t mean we’re going to make more kids together, wild. Never mind him and his personal life.”
She then urged people to stop asking LGBTQ+ people questions about the methods they use to conceive, describing her fans’ questions as “intrusive.”
“A baby blesses the world – that’s all. Like I said, if I choose to share one day – I will,” she added.
Sophie recently revealed that she will be raising her third child as a single parent, after responding to a fan’s congratulatory message on YouTube.
One fan wrote: ‘This is amazing for you and your family!! You are doing great on your own, you are already an amazing mother! Congratulations,’ to which Sophie responded: ‘Thank you so much!!’

Sophie split from Jarryd in 2019 and they are still amicably co-parenting their two children Bobby and Florence.
After their split, Sophie had an on-again, off-again relationship with Matildas star Alanna Kennedy, but they went their separate ways in early 2020.
She was then engaged to Maddie Garrick for eight months, before shocking fans by announcing their separation in October 2022.
Sophie started a romance with footballer Sophie van de Heuvel, but the two reportedly split in January of this year after a year of dating.
They started dating in December 2022, but unfollowed each other on Instagram in January 2024.
The couple kept their romance relatively private throughout their relationship, with no one’s photo appearing on each other’s feed.
Earlier this year, Sophie was rumored to be dating an anonymous basketball player, but she hasn’t publicly addressed any new romances since her split from Heuvel.
