Influencer Sarah’s Day opens up on her ‘debilitating’ and ‘painful’ pregnancy struggles as she details health condition

Sarah’s Day has opened up about her ‘debilitating’ and ‘painful’ pregnancy problems and revealed how she fends off her symptoms.

The Australian influencer, 31, whose real name is Sarah Stevenson, took to Instagram on Friday to discuss her struggle with symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD).

SPD refers to the uncomfortable symptoms felt when the joint between the pelvic bones moves more than normal, causing discomfort and persistent pain.

Sarah, who is due to welcome her third child in October, said she suffered from SPD during her first two pregnancies with sons Fox Ocean, five, and Malakai Koa, two.

She explained what she’s doing differently during her third pregnancy in an effort to ward off the “debilitating” and “painful” symptoms, as she opened up about her struggles.

Sarah gave an insight into the training regime she has been following, which has seen her reduce her cardio and instead focus more on Pilates and resistance training.

Sarah, who is currently 20 weeks pregnant, shared a video of herself doing a series of core exercises and physiotherapist-approved stretches, alongside a lengthy caption.

She wrote: “Things I do differently during my THIRD pregnancy. As I show you my pregnancy Pilates workout from week 19 of the Body & Bump Guide! (Linked)

‘Most of these points relate to my own experiences and previous pregnancies. I have suffered from excruciating cases of SPD (pubic symphysis dysfunction) from 28 weeks of pregnancy one and 20 weeks of pregnancy two.

‘If you’ve been through it, you already know it. Debilitating and painful to say the least.

‘Especially after my second pregnancy, I noticed that both long walks and heavy leg training were triggers that aggravated my pelvis.

‘As soon as I became pregnant for the third time, I was determined to delay the onset of my almost impending SPD symptoms.

‘I followed the 24-week Body & Bump guide which encouraged me to still enjoy sweating, butt burning, core exercises, cardiovascular movements and toning, all while taking care of my growing belly.

‘I’m 20 weeks pregnant and feeling GREAT! By my second pregnancy I had already stopped doing most single-leg exercises, so I feel very positive and happy that these changes and adjustments I have made are really making an impact.

“Girls with SPD/pelvic issues – what do YOU think were your biggest aggravating triggers!?”

Sarah is currently counting down the weeks until she welcomes her third child with husband Kurt Tilse in October.

The social media star first announced her pregnancy to her 1.2 million followers in early May.
