Influencer reveals TikTok ‘arrow analogy’ and why it helped so much she got it TATTOOED on her body

A TikToker has revealed a motivational analogy that's helping her get through tough times – and others are being inspired to implement it in their own lives.

Jessica Leaming, who goes by @jessicaleamingx on TikTok, shared a video with caption: 'to my girls going through it right now, this is for you'.

The clip quickly racked up more than 292,000 views, with commenters saying they “loved” the idea.

She explained to her followers, “To all the girls going through this right now, I just want to remind you of the arrow analogy.

“It's something that's so close to my heart, I have it tattooed on my body and it's basically the theory of an arrow.”

She continued, “If you think about a bow and arrow, an arrow simply cannot be shot forward without being pulled back and without encountering some resistance.

“So if you feel like you're constantly encountering resistance and you're not really sure why you're not breaking through now, why that happy ending isn't there, why that next level isn't there, and you just feel like something has to happen soon come a break.

'There has to be a breakthrough, something has to happen – it's like this and just focus and aim.'

And he added: 'Cause when you're going through shit, when you're going through things that don't make sense, believe me, the best thing you can do is focus on the vision and the goal, just like an arrow does.

“So if you imagine the arrows being pulled back, if you just focus, even as you go through it, if you just stay focused, if the arrow releases and you have a target, you'll go where you want to go.”

Jessica assured viewers, “You get what you want to get and trust me guys, I've been through this so many times where I'm literally like, what the hell is going on, why is this happening to me?

“I get into that whole negative head space and then it all makes sense.”

She closed the video by saying that her best advice is to “get super, super clear about what you desire, what you want for yourself, and just stay focused on that.”

Adding, “Even if everything in your reality says, 'This isn't happening right now' — okay, trust it.

“Trust the process, stay focused, and when the arrow finally comes loose, you'll know where you're going.”

Commenters thanked the TikToker for the advice, writing, “I needed this Jess!” and 'Next tattoo!! Thank you for this message'.

Others wrote: 'I love this!! I've never heard of it either!, 'I had to hear this' and 'This helps! I'm literally going through one bad thing after another, I need a break!!!!'

Someone else said: 'The hardships will make it even more worth it if everything works out.'

Those familiar with the analogy added, “The exact reason I have my arrow tattoo” and “My first tattoo was my arrow, you have to go backward before you go forward.”

Another wrote: 'I have an upward arrow tattooed on my achilles tendon from this theory! Achilles is also one of the strongest parts of our body, so I thought it was perfect'.
