An Australian influencer’s fiancé has been charged with “animal cruelty” after pulling their dog by the ear.
Mia Plecic and her fiancé Justin Borg were summoned by an Instagram sleuth account Dutch Mint after she posted a video of him pulling their dog Maple’s ear after visiting a local park.
In her now-deleted video, the 31-year-old can be heard laughing as Justin drags Maple to the car.
Dutch Minty captioned their post: ‘@miaplecic laughs as her fiancé @justinborg pulls their dog by the ears. Yet her company @slickhairco is ‘cruelty free’?’
“I wonder if she would laugh if she was dragged by the ear… this is cruelty,” one person commented.

‘That’s not okay! I hope the right people see this,” said another. ‘This is rancid. This must be reported,” a third agreed.
“Treated better than any other dog? My dog who has never been led by her ears strongly disagrees,” commented another.
After the pole defiance, Mia defended her fiancé by insisting he “didn’t hurt Maple,” who is a “shaggy dog.”
“To the people who thought Justin hurt Maple in that video, please relax. She tried to eat random food in the garden. He didn’t hurt her,” she wrote.

Fans called out the pair for their behaviour, with many saying ‘It’s disgusting’
“We love our dogs more than anything in the world and they are treated better than any dog. Thank you for your concern.’
