Influencer Kat Clark hits back at ‘mean girls’ who said her 13-year-old daughter’s TikTok Awards outfit was ‘too revealing’

Kat Clark has hit back at the ‘mean girl’ fashion police who branded the outfit her 13-year-old daughter wore to the TikTok Awards as ‘too revealing’.

Déjà 13, wore a two-piece ensemble with a midriff as she accompanied her mother to the social media platform’s star-studded awards ceremony in Sydney last week.

The top comment on a photo of the TikTok star mother and daughter posing together at the TikTok Awards reads: “Déjà looks like she came out of a strip club.”

Kat, who co-hosted the event with Robert Irwin, took to Instagram on Monday to hit back at the barrage of online criticism of her teen’s yellow outfit.

Kat posted an image of Kim Kardashian’s infamous all-black 2021 Met Gala outfit to her Stories and wrote, “This is what Déjà will be wearing to the next awards to keep everyone happy,” with a laughing emoji.

“If you are a mean girl please unfollow me,” she captioned a TikTok post to her 6.7 million followers on Saturday.

Kat said she had read everyone’s negative comments about her performance at the awards with her daughter and that she had taken revenge on keyboard warriors “not just to put down women, but to put down teenagers.”

“So many people had a problem with Déjà’s outfit and it just blows my mind,” she said.

‘I have never had control over what my children wear and I never will. One of my main goals as a parent is to give my children confidence in their bodies. Sometimes I make a few suggestions, but if my child wants to wear something, I let them.

“And isn’t it easier to be nice instead of a mean girl?” I don’t understand.’

Kat showed off her busty appearance with her daughter at the event, wearing a mint green dress with sequins.

The mother of two started making TikTok dances for her teenage daughter, who she had when she was just 17, and won the TikTok Business of the Year Award this year for her ezcema cream she developed for Déjà.

In 2022, Kat was named Creator of the Year and was also named Digital Creator of the Year at the AACTAs.

In another video shared on Sunday, the 37-year-old told those still upset about her daughter’s awards ceremony: “Seriously, get over it.”

‘So many people have negative opinions about the way I parent. But I won’t let anyone change that, because at the end of the day I have the best relationship with my children.

‘They tell me everything. We work together. Déjà always thinks about others and how they feel. And I may not be the perfect parent, but the way my child treats others, with so much love and respect, makes me think I did a pretty good job.”

Déjà, who turns 14 in the next two weeks, is a growing influencer in her own right and has 1.4 million followers on her mother-run Instagram account.

‘My daughter said, “Mom, you actually have an interesting life, you should vlog about it.” I committed to one video a day for 30 days, and it went ballistic,” Kat previously said when describing her sudden rise to social media stardom.

The influencer faced a wardrobe dilemma of her own when she hosted the awards show on social media, with fans pointing out that she and influencer Georgia Murray were wearing the exact same dress.

She accessorized the halterneck dress, which consisted of a corset bodice with a silver clutch and clear heels.

Meanwhile, Love Island star Georgia accentuated her features in the same dress which she completed with a black bag.

The former reality star curled her long brunette locks and wore gold earrings to the event.

Georgia shared a video of her arrival on her social media, when fans were quick to point out that she was wearing the same dress as Kat.

“That’s the same dress as Kat Clark,” one person said.

Another asked: “Did everyone just shop at the same stores?”

It comes after Kat faced backlash earlier this month for wearing a statement dress to a friend’s wedding, with fans branding the look ‘rude’ and ‘disrespectful’.

She couldn’t contain her excitement as she showed her 6.6 million TikTok followers her wedding guest outfit for a friend’s wedding.
