Influencer reveals the stomach-churning injury her son sustained through a completely innocent act: ‘Millimetres from a horrific ending’
An Australian influencer has revealed the shocking injury her son suffered during a family gathering last week.
Mom blogger Sarah Kearns shared a lengthy post on Instagram explaining how her son Knox suffered a serious accident while sitting on a beanbag and juggling a ball.
She said Knox leaned back and “went straight through an old glass window behind him, slicing the back of his neck.”
“Time stood still as I saw the blood seeping through the back of his new football jersey,” Sarah wrote.
She said paramedics were called and Knox was rushed to Children’s Hospital.
‘He’s fine. He’s home, he’s healing well and we thank our lucky stars that an angel was looking out for him that night…just millimeters away from a horrific end,” she continued.

‘Just writing this makes my heart jump out of my chest. All the risky things children do and the accidents seem to happen at the most mundane moments.’
Sarah added, “I don’t think we’ve even fully processed it yet, but it’s a stark reminder that we need to count our blessings every day, even among the chaos and mess, because life can change in the blink of an eye.” ‘
She also gave fans an update on her Instagram Story, revealing that Knox is doing very well and that his brothers are “fine after a terrible shock.”
“We reset our nerves with a lot of free time, outside of time, and I slowly give myself space to process what happened and try to avoid the ‘what if’ questions.”
Sarah’s husband of 13 years Brad, also known as ‘DadMum’ online, went viral on Facebook in 2016 when he wrote a scathing post after a man judged his wife for being ‘just’ a stay-at-home parent.
‘We went to a wedding last week. We sat on a table that was half half. Half us and half them. It wasn’t that bad and we all got along. They started that awkward conversation we all have when we meet new adults,” he wrote at the time.
“So what do you do with yourself?”
“I don’t know why this damn conversation is happening. It’s almost a passive game of ‘who’s the richest’ or ‘guess my lifestyle?’

Brad said when he explained what he did for a living, no one “blinked,” but when a male guest started questioning his wife Sarah, it was a different story.
‘And then he looks at Sarah. She is very intelligent and has been in emergency services for over seven years,” Kearns continued.
‘He says, “Oh, so you just stay home and take care of the kids?”
“I don’t know how this became a generalization, but it fucking stinks.”
Brad then urged his followers to stop judging and making assumptions about other parents.
