Influencer Halley Kate flees to ritzy new Hamptons home after being punched in the face in Manhattan – but says she’s still keeping her NYC apartment

Social media influencer Halley Kate has closed on her new home in The Hamptons after a difficult few months following her attack in Manhattan.

The 23-year-old New York City-based influencer made the announcement a video she posted on TikTok and Instagram two days ago that she bought a house in the luxurious eastern retreat.

Although Kate had been working on The Hamptons home deal since February, she revealed in a second TikTok video that she will keep her NYC apartment, which reportedly costs $7,000 per month.

‘This is my house. I bought this with my own money… I’m not leaving New York City. I just spend my summers here,” Kate said in her second video.

Kate’s real estate purchase came just two months after she made headlines for being punched in the face while walking along West 16th and 7th Avenue in Manhattan.

Halley Kate, 23, announced in a TikTok and Instagram video that she closed on a house in The Hamptons on May 20

Although she did not reveal the exact cost of her home, comparable homes in the area cost just under $1 million.

The influencer, born Halle Kate McGookin, regularly posts content on social media and currently has over a million followers on TikTok.

She couldn’t hide her joy as she completed the purchase of her home and shared the moment on social media

Kate was given the keys straight after signing the final paperwork, and later left a bottle of champagne in the garden of her property to celebrate.

The influencer also added clips of her dogs, a look at the home’s second floor and kitchen, and a snippet of her painting on one of the walls.

Kate also added a clip of her kissing her boyfriend Reed Williams on the beach, just before he threw her over his shoulder.

More than one TikToker had questions about Kate’s house purchase, prompting her to state some facts in her second video.

Kate had been working on The Hamptons home deal since February. She revealed in a second TikTok video that she would keep her New York apartment, which reportedly costs $7,000 a month.

Kate said the lengthy home buying process was “all 100 per cent worth it” and she was thrilled to move in.

According to the influencer, the biggest question TikTokers asked her was why she decided to buy a house in The Hamptons.

“I go to The Hamptons and spend a weekend at least once a month, usually in the summer, and that adds up,” she said.

“It’s so expensive here, and I thought, ‘Why am I literally paying a mortgage on hotels, renting a car, paying for my dog sitting, just for one weekend.’

Kate went on to say that she had always wanted to buy a house in The Hamptons and that it seemed like a good investment.

She added that she immediately fell in love with the house and would make changes to the property to suit her taste.

Kate then answered the question of how she would get from NYC to The Hamptons – by driving her newly purchased Land Rover.

New York real estate agent Caroline Walker made her own video on TikTok, giving curious followers an idea of how much money Kate could spend on housing each month.

Kate said the lengthy house buying process was ‘all worth it’ and she was thrilled to move in

According to the agent, just under $1.5 million for a home in The Hamptons is “a good median price.”

Walker explained that if Kate had purchased a property worth that much, she would have spent $298,000 if she had put down 20 percent.

She added that Kate’s principal and interest rates would be approximately $7,900 per month, and that the influencer would also have to pay $1,000 per month in property taxes and less than $100 per month in homeowners insurance.

If Kate bought her house for that much, then her grand total for the house in The Hamptons is $8,924 per month.

That, combined with her New York apartment, would cost Kate almost $16,000 a month in rent and mortgage payments.

Walker called this “a pretty good basic example,” but that she has no knowledge of Kate’s finances nor is she a financial expert.

TikTokers have congratulated Kate on her home purchase and are speculating on Reddit which Hampton home could be hers

“I’m almost certain the beach clip at the end of her TikTok was taken at Meschutt Beach because of the jetty and scenery in the background,” one Reddit user wrote.

TikTokers who commented on Walker’s video also claimed that Kate bought the house for $850,000 and that it was in Hampton Bays.

Others who left comments on Kate’s second TikTok video praised her for being able to buy a house in The Hamptons, with one even calling her a “Long Island queen.”

‘Congratulations! I also live in The Hamptons. See you this summer,” one TikToker wrote in the comments section yesterday.
