Infinity Nikki cosplayers show that no outfit is too complicated (or too simple) to recreate
Players from Infinity Nikki can create dazzling and adorable outfits with just a few clicks. The dress-up game allows players to endlessly tinker with clothes, without all the hassle and money associated with buying and trying on outfits in the real world. But the real barriers to fashion haven’t stopped some fans of the game. Since its release in December Infinity Nikki has inspired fans to recreate outfit pieces that they can wear as everyday fashion items or as cosplay.
Developed by Papergames and InFold Games, Infinity Nikki is an open world adventure game where you play as fashion stylist Nikki. The game launched about a month ago and already includes hundreds of options for shoes, tops, dresses and accessories. Some looks – like the Whisper of waves dress and accessories – are quite glamorous and look fit for a Disney princess, but other options stand out as unique fashion items that a real person could wear in their everyday life.
TikTok user Lifengling did a fantastic job recreating several items from the game. Infinity Nikki includes an outfit called Bye-Bye Dust with a super fluffy and fluffy baby doll dress with a large paw print sewn onto it. Lifengling created a montage of the dress, which somehow looks even better in real life. If you look at TikTok, the different textures of the dress are much more apparent and you can see the different fabrics used a lot better than in the game.
The same designer also recreated the Bright Days outfit shirt in the game. It is a cropped top with knitted flower details. It uses a green and yellow color palette and has a super light, summery look. That’s possible look at Lifengling create it below.
In addition to more everyday outfits, Infinity Nikki has also inspired detailed cosplay from its fashion. In these cases, cosplayers have recreated entire outfits from head to toe, while also adjusting their makeup and hair to suit the look from Nikki and others from the game. Below is how TikTok user SwaggyCucumber recreates the look of the goddess Ena with her flowing dress and complicated metal mask.
It’s a pleasure to see. While some of the fashion is in Infinity Nikki may not be practical, but the varied and whimsical styles can appeal to a variety of fashion preferences. So, at least for me personally, I’m looking forward to seeing how the game continues to interact with real-world fashion.
