Indy Clinton sparks pet rehoming debate after adding puppy to household to calm aggressive dog

Australian influencer Indy Clinton has sparked a debate after admitting she planned to rehome her kelpie Billy after he bit one of her children.

In a now-expired Instagram Stories post, the 26-year-old asked what her followers would do in the same situation.

“Imagine trusting this dog 110 percent around your children at all times, but one day everything changes,” she began.

“One night, the dog is inside because it’s cold. Your child pets the dog like any child should pet the family dog, and the dog reacts and bites him,” the TikTok star continues.

‘So in my head, hypothetically, I would only allow it once, once and then the dog is gone.

“You can get a new home. You can go to another family that doesn’t have children. But when push comes to shove, it’s a pretty tough situation.

“That’s a pretty tough decision to make, so if someone was in that situation, what would you do with your dog? Would you never give him another chance? Would you separate him for good and he would have no quality of life? Would you chain him up downstairs?”

Indy later admitted that she had plans to rehome Billy, but decided against it. Instead, she decided to get a second dog as a “friend” for the older animal, to help him calm down.

The topic was discussed by the hosts of Pronounced the Podcastwho did not agree with the way this was handled.

“I think this situation is worse and more judgment is needed because it doesn’t appear that anything has been done about Billy’s aggression,” they said.

“And this looks like a Band-Aid on a Band-Aid situation. She’s repeated what the dog trainer said there’s nothing you can do. She probably shouldn’t have shared it online.”

So far, Indy hasn’t had much criticism for the decision. A handful of fans have only wondered how Billy is handling the new pet.
