A 20-year-old Indiana man allegedly had sex with his family’s dog before threatening to kill his mother with a hammer after she witnessed the attack.
Blake Reffett, of Elkhart, Indiana, was charged with bestiality and harassment with a deadly weapon on June 9 after his mother allegedly saw him rape the dog while it was pinned to the couch in March last year, reports the Elkhart truth.
His mother told police that Reffett took a hammer and told her to sit on the couch and not call the police. The 20-year-old threatened to hit her in the face with the hammer, kill her and then burn her body if she did, reports Gosen News.
Reffett’s mother claimed he ran away from their home shortly after, meaning she could call the police.
Officers arrived at the family home in Elkhart and found the dog had red spots and blood on him.

A vet performed a preliminary exam on the dog and diagnosed the pet with trauma, including trauma around the dog’s foreskin.
Police later executed a search warrant at the family home on June 10 last year and said they heard Reffett refer to placing a hit on his mother.
Reffett was arrested in early March and held at the Elkhart County Jail, where he is being held on $50,000 bond.
Reffett’s case is scheduled for a jury trial on February 19, 2024.
