Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Indian diaspora and their achievements in the United States, saying the community has distinguished itself in the US and is making a positive impact across sectors.

Prime Minister Modi shared a message on X, after arriving at the Hotel duPont in Wilmington, Delaware, writing, “The Indian community has distinguished itself in the US and has made a positive impact across sectors. It is always a pleasure to interact with them.”

“At around 9:30 pm India time on Sunday, September 22, I will be addressing the @ModiandUS programme in New York City. Let us celebrate the bonds that unite our nations!” the Prime Minister said.

The Indian diaspora in Delaware was abuzz with excitement as they welcomed Prime Minister Modi. Shouts of “Modi, Modi” filled the air as community members prepared for the PM’s arrival outside the hotel.

A member of the Indian diaspora expressed joy over Prime Minister Modi’s arrival in the US and said, “I don’t think there is another politician like him who has sacrificed his life and made sure that India is respected and loved. He has brought it to the forefront of the world.”

“I am blessed to welcome him to Delaware,” she said.

Meanwhile, another member of the diaspora said: “I shook hands with Prime Minister Modi. I am very happy.”

“He has brought back the golden age of India. Modi Ji is great… This is a historic moment to cherish,” said another member of the Indian diaspora as Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the Hotel duPont and met members of the Indian community who had gathered there to welcome him.

President Biden welcomed the leaders to Delaware, saying, “Today, I welcome Prime Ministers Albanese, Modi, and Kishida to my home: Delaware. These leaders are not only essential to ensuring a free and open Indo-Pacific — they are friends of mine and friends of our country. I look forward to all we will accomplish in the upcoming summit.

During the Quad Summit, Prime Minister Modi will join US President Joe Biden, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida to discuss regional security and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific.
