India, European Union may be able to resolve ICT dispute by next month

India and the European Union (EU) are actively involved in discussions and could settle their dispute at the World Trade Organization (WTO) next month over New Delhi’s tariffs on certain information and technology products, a person aware of the matter said case.

A WTO panel said in April that India had violated global trade standards in a dispute with the EU, Japan and Taiwan over tariffs on IT products such as mobile phones, components and telephone handsets. It also asked New Delhi to remove tariffs on technology products.
