India captain’s wife posts bizarre social media message claiming her husband’s ‘booty’ is better than his bowling

  • India top in the first Test against Australia
  • Comes after a blistering bowling spell from the skipper
  • His wife was impressed by a completely different figure

While millions of Indian fans were impressed by skipper Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling against Australia in the first Test, his wife had a very different opinion.

After declaring before the match that he thrived on responsibility, Bumrah (4-17) delivered a devastating first spell to remove debutant opener Nathan McSweeney (10), Usman Khawaja (eight) and Steve Smith (golden duck).

India are poised to claim first blood in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, but it was Bumrah’s figure, and not his bowling figures, that impressed his wife Sanjana Ganesan the most.

“Great bowler, even bigger booty,” the sportscaster hilariously posted to her 1.6 million followers, including a cheeky emoji of a peach.

Before the carnage, former Australian opener David Warner explained why it was so difficult to face the Indian pace bowler.

“Bumrah’s main challenge is getting used to his action. If you haven’t met him before, it can be quite a challenge,” Warner said.

‘You have to try to get used to stuttering in the crease. And then he unleashes a few bolts of lightning. He always hits line and length. Can swing them both ways.

“I think the great thing about him is that he has two different gears. He can throw it up when the ball is new, and then it can go the other way.”

One of the greatest swing bowlers of all time, Wasim Akram, also heaped praise on Bumrah on Star Sports.

“Bumrah was at the top of his game and read the Australian batters brilliantly. His spell was a masterclass in understanding circumstances and exploiting weaknesses,” he said.

“He is the best bowler in world cricket across all formats. The control, the swing, the pace, using the crease, went to Usman Khawaja around the wicket. I mean, he’s just a brilliant bowler to watch.

‘He picked up the batsman’s weakness very quickly, and he barely bowled a short ball, and he realized he was expecting a short delivery.

“He threw it all in, swung the ball both ways and got four wickets. That’s what you call the leader leading from the front.”

It comes after Bumrah said he was enjoying the added responsibility of being captain ahead of his devastating bowling spell.

“I don’t consider captaincy as a position but I have always loved responsibility,” Bumrah said at a press conference ahead of the first Test.

‘As a child I wanted to do all the hard work. You want to do things and find yourself in difficult scenarios, which gives me a new challenge’
