- Aussies shared a photo of the sale online
- The origin of the photo has been revealed
Aussies have been left in shock after a photo resurfaced showing the iconic Bunning sausage for sale in Bali.
The photo shows a woman at a stall on the island, above which the banner “Charity Bunnings Sausage Sizzle” is waving.
Another post on the stall explains how the sizzle was organized by Botanica Bar in Bali – which is run by Aussies.
The photo caused a stir on social media, with Aussies scratching their heads over the surprise appearance of the Bunnings sausage sizzling in Bali.
However, it can be revealed that the image dates back to a fundraising appeal in January 2020 to raise money for Australians affected by bushfires that year.

The bar, based in Seminyak, hosted the appeal for days, with all proceeds going to the Red Cross Fire Relief Fund.
The sausages were supplied by an Australian butcher and paid homage to the warehouse fritter with onions, tomato sauce and mustard.
Australian Brenton Banner, 30, the executive chef and general manager of Botanica Bali, came up with the concept.
Originally from Warrnambool in Victoria, Mr Banner said he felt helpless about the situation at home and wanted to help.
He said the stall has attracted locals and tourists alike, but was particularly popular with Australians.
“I just wanted to help at home. It’s so far away. I wanted to be able to do something.’

“It’s been really good, people are happy with it and are coming with us to make donations in our can.”
“Hopefully this week we can get a few more people down and get a few more donations.”
Aussies reacted to the photo on Monday, applauding the move.
One of them asked, “Why can’t they sell beer here at the Bunnings?”
Another added: “They’ve figured out that Aussies have the gene that makes them instantly crave a sizzling Bunnings sausage, and will inevitably part with a few dollary boxes to appease the ferocious beast.”
While a third quipped, “Bali is being gentrified.”
