Incredible moment when deadly great white shark comes face to face with British photographer

Exciting footage has emerged of a British photographer who narrowly escaped a shark attack after appearing to want to confront the man.

The video and images by London-born filmmaker and photographer Euan Rannachan, 36, show the shark making its way to and coming within inches of its protective cage

He captured the images with a Nikon D850 in an Aquatech water house on the island of Guadalupe, about 200 kilometers off the coast of Mexico.

At one point, the shark literally came face to face with the brave photographer.

A great white shark weighs an average of 5,000 pounds and can grow up to 7 feet in length.

Mr Rannachan said: ‘I took these images when we were on Guadalupe Island.

‘It was an unforgettable meeting with the king of the ocean.

“I was very excited because of the position of the boat and where the sun made it so I could see through the water very easily.”

According to researchers, there is a one in 4,332,817 chance that a person will die in their lifetime as a result of a shark attack.

While unprovoked shark attacks are extremely rare worldwide, especially in the UK, they are more common in certain locations.

Florida is considered the shark bite capital of the world after 16 unprovoked attacks were reported last year.

The International Shark Attack file shared an interactive map on his websitetracking global incidents from 1900 onwards.

Australia and the US are prime hotspots for vicious shark incidents, the data shows, with 50 incidents by 2022.
