Lotto boss: Andria Vidler heads Allwyn’s UK operations

The UK’s budding National Lottery operator has hired renowned media executive Andria Vidler to run its UK operations as it prepares to take over the license in February.

Vidler, the former boss of music label EMI in the UK and Ireland and a board member at William Hill owner 888, will take over on October 1.

She succeeds Allwyn Group CEO Robert Chvatal, who filled this role on an interim basis.

Allwyn beat Camelot last year to win a five-year license to run the National Lottery.

The Czech company also runs lotteries in Austria, Italy and Greece.

Allwyn acquired Camelot UK earlier this year, ending a bitter legal battle between the companies after the Gambling Commission granted Allwyn the license, although the two companies continue to operate separately.
