Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has said that provisions are being made in the National Education Policy (NEP) to study sports as a formal subject and the same was discussed during the three-day National Sports Educator Conference.

Meanwhile, Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur on Saturday visited the Sports Authority of India (SAI) in Bengaluru where he lauded the government's 'Khelo India' initiative and said it has been a “great success”.
During his visit to the SAI facility, Thakur also interacted with the trainees, coaches and other support staff.
“India has good talent but the only problem is that we need to have more competitions, both in terms of state and national competitions. For this, the Federation has to play an important role and the state governments also have to play a crucial role. provide facilities like Khelo India tournaments, we invest in youth games. He added that SAI in Bengaluru has become a hub for athletes to train and rehabilitate. He added that SAI in Bengaluru has developed over the last few years.
